The Times today: "Luc Castaignos, the striker, would prefer to move to Twente [is he mad?] rather than Queens Park Rangers, although Inter Milan would prefer to sell to the West London club, who are offering about £4.8 million."

I can't recall seeing this name in any previous speculation on this board. I don't know the player but I would have thought we were blessed with more than enough strikers at the moment and, as I have said elsewhere, we could use a few more defensive reinforcements, especially a quality CB.

Twente are in Europe or have been recently, they are certainly a better short term prospect.

Surely the money would be better spent in other areas.

My instinct tells me he would be a better signing than Carroll (at a fraction of the cost).

Actually Twente might fail horribly in Europa League, if they don't beat Finnish club FC Inter Turku today. They played 1 - 1 in Holland last week...

If he preferrs a move to Twente, then **** him, let him rot in the dutch leagues instead of lording it with the big boys of the premier league.

Like you ever watched an Eredivisie game...

And for Castaignos, Twente is the better option. He's not mature enough to handle the top 4 leagues. He learned that the hard way at Inter Milan. He needs 2 or 3 more years if he wants to up his game to the standards of the EPL, Bundesliga, Serie A or La Liga.

And like flyer said, they play in Europe, currently 0-3 ahead in Finland and they are likely to progress to the group stage. Edit: 0-4 now

Edit 2: Final 0-5, Twente advance to the third round on a 6-1 aggregate and will likely play next week against Mlda Boleslav.

    Just stating the obvious here:emoticon-0103-cool:
