BT Sport have had a shocker this weekend in fixture choices. The Beeb were right to pick what they did, despite the criticisms they get.
It would be difficult not to see the poetic justice in such a finale for Gerrard, but I could only take any pleasure from it if they won it as underdogs. If they get past Blackburn I will still be wanting Bradford/Reading or Villa to win it before they do.
Personally I'd prefer it if he fell over again in his own half and that directly resulted in them ****ing-up winning another trophy. That, coupled together with his nice flick-on for Suarez in Brazil last summer, would make a terrific year for Mr Loyalty stroke Transfer Request.
Imagine if he headed it into his own net in the 90th minute to lose the cup... That would be ****ing hilarious.
Or a Nick Proschwitz style injury time penalty saved and then the oppo break down the other end and score their own winner. I dont think I'd ever recover from that. Or actually if they made the final and everyone ****ed about him for the week or so beforehand and then Rodgers didnt even pick him for the squad and we were treated to copious shots of him longingly looking on from the stands. Now that would be wondrous.
I like that one. Maybe instead of it being saved, he slips a la Terry in the UCL final and smashes it against the post.
