I actually had to check this article was not created yesterday on April 1st! https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...disclosed-mcdonalds-win-bonuses-a3803906.html Also should be noted that Accrington Stanley have the lowest budget in the league... In the meantime, the Gills fans at Southend were fed on a pig swill 'performance' from old McDonald's farm - it might have been 1st April - but I couldn't see the funny side . ps - brb you really need to put in more 'effort' in your posts - if it was me, I would have given it a title something like " The FA can burger off. " (( which I felt like doing by 3.11 pm yesterday ))
Surely the simplest way to overcome that is just to have an additional clause in the contract along the lines that the employer may award additional bonuses at their discretion. Frankly I'm surprised it's not there already. Heard a lovely story on from Tommy Docherty on the radio at the weekend (he'll be 90 later this month) about how after Preston got to the FA Cup Final in 1954, in the days of maximum wage and no performance bonus in the contracts of any player, Tom Finney was delegated to approach the Chairman and suggest that the players might get some sort of bonus for their success, and was advised that the suggestion would be considered. Some time later the Chairman duly advised Finney that he had put the suggestion to the Board, and after due consideration they had agreed that some sort of reward would be appropriate, and they had decided that each of the player's wives would be purchased a new handbag. Try and get a listen to the whole interview on BBC - Radio 5 - Sportsweek - 0900 last Sunday. Can't stand Gary Richardson as a rule, but sometimes he comes up with a decent piece. EDIT Just listened to it and realised it's not in the TD interview but a story told after the interview by journalist Pat Collins who used to ghost write newspaper articles for Docherty. Still worth a listen though.
