The more i read and see footage of Sandro, the more i like him. Think he'll be invaluable to our campaign - a real rock infront of our defense. Not so sure about Niko though - he didn't quite cut it last time, so why does HR think he'll cut it this time. Clearly he's a classy player and was good in his time but i think the horse has bolted and he's past his best. Maybe a decent sub to bring on if the midfield is having an off day but i'm not sure that he an impact sub, the sort we need if things are going badly on the day. He's more the type of player you bring on if we're 2-0 up with 10 mins to go, just to see if he can close out the game. Yes, he can create that moment of magic but i don't want to have to sit through hours of waiting just to see that one brilliant pass. Am i being harsh?
I think Niko is in much better shape than last time. Personally I'd rather have him then not. He picks a great pass and sees things that many others don't. Unlike Adel, better team player too.
Niko has lost serious amounts of weight unless the photos are photoshopped! I am pleased with his inclusion in the squad. There were some quality moments last season with turns, flicks and incisive passes. With his weight loss and good mental attitude, I believe he will do us proud.
Taking a 65% pay cut because he wants to play for us and now feels like he is back 'home' says it all for me. A squad player, with a lot of competition but a thoroughly decent chap. He is looking a lot more 'eye of the tiger' physically too.
Also have a watch of his interview on the website. He clearly loves the club, and genuinely wants to be here.
Niko's fitter, playing in a league that suits him better, with better players around him (as he's used to), and more to prove. I thought he did OK for us last season- and provided a few PL quality moments. We were looking good in that playoff final before he went off. A good option in the squad, particularly if Taarabt can't pull his finger out.
I liked him even when he was fat. Great acquisition - really wants to play for Harry and us. Great to see a player NOT coming for the money.....If he is actually fit he could be a starter....so naturally gifted, bags of flair and has vision that can't be taught. Niko, Niko, Niko......
The fact he's taken a pay cut says so much about him. Being he looks much fitter this time, hopefully he will get more time on the pitch. That's how I feel Re. His vision and ability. Adel has it but isn't so much a team player, that's so much to his detriment. If Adel could be a team player and sort out his attitude. What a player he COULD be. (But we've hammered that discussion to death over the years.)
Didn't Harry say he was on two thirds of what he had been on? That would be approximately a 33% pay cut. Sorry to be picky
Niko was great for us last season, he's got genuine class on the pitch and off, a bit of creativity never goes amiss and it's often exactly what we lack. A player who really wants to play for us is a rarity these days so this signing should be applauded as far as I'm concerned.
Regardless of the pay cut. Niko is an attacking mid, and Sandro is a defensive mid, two separate animals. It's like trying to compare Modric to Ozil. Two completely different animals. Now both of them on the pitch at the same time puts a smile on my face.
Yep a really good watch. http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/010914-niko-kranjcars-first-qpr-interview-1892264.aspx
All my Tottenham colleagues at work cant understand Sandro leaving Tottenham as they all think he is a top player and should still be in their first team. As regards Niko im delighted to see him back. I think he will probably be more suited to the Premiership than the Championship and I understand he is fitter than ever and his ability to unlock defences with great passes and score the odd goal himself I think Harry has done well. Its just a shame we couldn't keep Judas up front.
Sandro is going to be a great addition and cover for the back four (or possibly three). Nico is going to be the creative spark that we have been missing, he looks fitter and keen to impress and already regards himself as an R and is happy to be here, ready & fit to play, which speaks volumes compared some others that have been fortunate enough to grace the Loftus Road pitch. If Fer can keep up his performance levels he and Nico will complement each other very well. I'm very excited by our attacking prospects and the supply that will be going in to Charlie and OBZ. ....and of course we can do the Charlie Austin & Nico Kranjcar song
Tony Fernandes let his mouth run away with him when he was interviewed by Sky Sports last night. "He lost a lot of..... er..... weight..... in the summer' It made me chuckle as he started then had to finish the sentence to make any sense!
Niko is and has always been a very talented footballer, if he is fit he's an asset to any club. Glad to have him back.
My only issue with him was his poor fitness. His ability is unquestionable and I look forward to watching him.
