People kept calling him a flop while he was with us, but that's not true, i thought he did well for us, i remember his first few games for us against Southampton and Everton, he scored some quality goals, people keep banging on about his injury record but in a way he wasn't inujred with us all the time. where would you put saha in terms of fergie signings, best or flop.
IMO he was neither a great signing or a flop, he could have been a great signing but his injury record prevented that imo. He certainly wasn't a flop though, he played some brilliant games for us.
He was the perfect striker in the Rooney Ronaldo front three IMO. Sadly he literally was always hurt.
Ability wise he was a really good player, great technique and finish and should have been a great striker. It was his mental strength and determination that let him down, he was weak minded more than anything. A lot of players with more grit would have played through the type of injury that he used to let get on top of him. As a result, he never really truly got going.
Saha like Hargreaves should not be considered flops, they were great players well worth the money that was paid for them given the quality they displayed when fit, however both players were ruined by injuries, harldy their faults. On a side note, how much different would things have been had Hargreaves not had his problems, he would have been a really fantastic fixture in the midfield
