I think we will see him as a permanent fixture unless he gets injured, fonts seems to play much better alongside him.
That record is getting closer every game.
Sod will want leaders and winners on the pitch, and louis certainly falls into that category. He will, give everything for the cause.

How far away is he from the record??

Hope the record doesn't influence SOD

I agree about Loius and in fact all other central defenders now at City are IMO not good enough to keep us in the Championship.

Best defender at the club over five years by far. Mr consistent in some very poor performing teams. Still showing a level of performance his peers should strive to emulate.

    Another angle on Louis Carey.

At the end of the promotion season from Div 3 in 1965-66 season John Atyeo wanted to retire but was persuaded by Harry dolman and Fred Ford to stay for the next season in the Second division.

At the end of last season, all we heard was how much Carey wanted to break Atyeo's appearance record and it appears it was a last minute change of heart by McInnes to offer him a one year contract for this season.

So in their final seasons how did Atyeo and Carey perform?

Big John scored 19 GOALS and we nearly got promotion to Div One!

Carey is the best of a very poor bunch of central defenders - the worst I've seen in 60 years - and that is the major reason why we are in this mess.

Great players are those who know when to finish and others just carry on regardless.
