I have noticed that I now have a rep point. Does this belong to ONB ? If it is genuinely mine I shall treasure it. Can anyone out there tell me how I came to be awarded this point ? , because I want to collect as many as I can:laugh:

My question is answered , rep points are awarded to the likes of us mere mortals by moderators. Are moderators eligible to receive rep points ? If yes , who awards them ?
Anyway , I like having a rep point , it shows I have been accepted. But be aware moderators , I cannot be bought nor bribed.

I think anyone can give rep, there should be a star on the grey bar opposite the reply/ quote buttons underneath posts, a box comes up and you can choose to rep or negative rep.

Anyone can rep anyone. As Sandor says above the Smiley face (Thanks), thumbs up (like) thumbs down (dislike) there is a grey bar with "Blog post, IP Star and warning Triangle".

If you click the star you can leave both positive and negative feedback, but you cant continually leave feedback for the same user you have to spreed it around and then you can have the option to leave feedback again for a user you have already repped before.

I would encourage all users on the board to leave postive user feedback for regular posters where appropriate. Get repin everyone!

Nope, I've just tried, clicking the star on your own posts just gives you some info on your rep. Also if you click "control panel" at the very top of the page, it shows who has recently given you rep, and why (if they left a reason).

I am now very worried. I must be experiencing hallucinations. A few days ago , after being a member for about two months I think , my rep power was 1 , and ONB's ( presumably after a suicide mission ) was zero. Today , I notice , that my rep power has leapt to 44 , and ONB's has resurrected to a power of 45.
I regard ONB as a kindred spirit , but what has he got that I haven't ?:emoticon-0108-speec
And Nick , I had the photos of her at 43 developed , and guess what , they came out looking like the Goat of Mendes.

you can check your control panel you can see who has been repping you.

if someone has a rep power of 6, they will give 6 rep points to whoever they rep, if the rep power is 10, ten points, etc. Every 100 points gives you a notch on the Rep power meter (100 points = 1 rep power).

If your rep power is 0, you give no points when you give rep.

This affects the green bars above your avatar too.

you cant start giving out rep points til you have made 100posts (i think)

    Negative rep deducts points.

    Hope all this helps!

P.S. - I have repped everyone on this thread (hence the jump from 1 to 44)

All this talk about reps is doing my head in! Thanks for your explanation. I am on a meagre 3pts which hopefully will equate to the number of points Stoke will get against the Hammers tomorrow.

BTW I like the quote on your profile, I wonder how many will be on the field at the Brit tomorrow - there will be 1 on the touchline at least, with a cap on

"Julian Dicks is everywhere. It's like they've got eleven Dicks on the field". - Metro Radio commentator
