Further to the lambasting a couple of posters unnecessarily got on another thread, more PJ comments have been published in TWTD this morning. He says we've looked abroad and he's exhausted the market. He says he can't spend the money. That is just nonsense. We can't spend the money because we make stupidly low bids like £1m for Ryan Shotton.

Anyway, PJ says that Sonko's agent keeps ringing him and he keeps tweeting that he wants to join Ipswich. So what are you waiting for PJ?? Sign him up! For goodness sake we have a centre back crisis, here is a quality player who wants to join us on a free and Jewell obviously wants to sit it out and see if he can sign the two we have bids in for.

This is the very reason we keep missing out - one or two bids at a time. One or two deals at a time. Get Sonko in or we will miss out and have to make do with bloody Tommy Smith until January.

Seriously, sort it out. The man needs a slap round the face with a big wet fish!

Maybe PJ offers what he thinks the targeted player is worth rather than than just throwing money at clubs, I'd rather be patient in the transfer market than bring in some more overvalued players. Just because a player says he wants to come here does not mean he is right for the club that is for the manager to decide.
Also I'm sure T.Smith is not making mistakes for the fun of it he is a young player(with world cup experience) who is probably suffering from a drop in confidence and form i think he needs an older player next to him who helps him during the game and I'm certain slagging him off will not help.

I had more time than most for Tommy Smith but if he's nervous he shouldn't be on the pitch. Good centre backs are fighters.

I'd actually expect every player to have nerves before a match it shows they care about the game. As PJ said he see's the players day in day out at training and around the club so i'm sure he know's better than anyone who is in the right frame of mind and fitness to be on the pitch.

If Sonko wants to come here, we should get him signed up. Personally think he is a top defender.

On PJ, I'm quite happy he isn't just throwing money about at clubs, and is actually showing a considered approach. But he does need to find the right balance between considered and insulting more frequently.
