As a 37 year old Sunderland supporter who has watched the few good times and many bad times and witnessed over and over the yoyo nature of my (our) club, in all of that time I have never found myself losing sleep over the club. Now things are so much different - I am a highly passionate fan who adores this football club, I PAY over £400 a year to watch them and am getting very downhearted by the state of things. I can't say who's to blame. PLayers like O'Shea, Mignolet, Cuellar, Sessegnon, Larsson, Gardner, Fletcher, Johnson - all good enough for their previous clubs, seem to fall to bits for us. We conceded one goal at the weekend and, as soon as Remy slotted the equaliser in, the side looked beaten. I laid awake Saturday night and last night wondering and worrying whether we are going to stay up. We have a side which, on paper, should be capable of so much more. How many people in the football community thought we were going to struggle? How many on here, after the signing of Johnson and Fletcher, thought we would struggle? I wonder how many of our players or our management team are losing sleep in the same way - I guess that's the difference between paying over a weeks salary for something and being paid millions per year for doing something. The fans were saying on the radio "We can;t even beat the first man with a corner, O'Neill has to be sacked" - Sorry but it certainly isn;t O'Neill's fault that we can't get a corner past the first man - I agree he has a lot of shortcomings (Wickham and Campbell to name 2) but he can't be blamed for a guy being **** at corners! Well that;s off my chest now - hope I get some sleep tonight!!
try and get some sleep. you wont go down, i think .. i watched your game on sat, o shea is a hazard, you need someone decent player maker in the middle. and c half . bit more passion aswell . but you must beat norwich on sat .which i think you will. dont think its as bad as yous think myself like.
He can be blamed though for paying way over the odds for sub standard and average players like Johnson and DGB.
Bear with a sore head on Sunday night but, managed to get to sleep gave up losing sleep over SAFC after the 15 point season mate.
adam johnson was canny for man city , you just dont turn bad overnight. think hes just a confidence player that you aint seen the best off thats all and needs time .lads. yous need to get the ball to him earlier aswell .. best of luck
Adam Johnson average??? Not O'Neill's fault that one NMG - Besides, He is still our 3rd top scorer and top assister this season - without him we'd be 12 goals worse off!
