Stringer has said that he phoned Martin up and he said he didn't want to talk about it on or off the record. Howard said something about a few players were unhappy under Sven. I didn't listen either, I'm getting this off Foxestalk <ok>

Apparently Stringer has said that they are interviewing someone at the ground tonight. Cue wild speculation and overreactions.

Howard said 'it is good to have some guidance now'

    Read into that!

Of course. I did hear the small part where he said he thought Pearson would come if offered. Other than that just the usual bullshit I suppose.

I don't think there's much to read into, he's saying it plain as a pikestaff that Sven was **** <laugh>

Isuppose it was a clash of styles? Sven/Howard?

Howard said he was frustrated, not playing but aloud to go out on loan, not that he wanted to go out, but the club had a lot of offers.

Howard has been massive in the last two games and shown everyone what we have been missing

Yeh I suppose it's mainly to do with not playing. Even under Sousa he was used and at the start of Sven's reign, then he started playing 4-3-3 and got Yakubu in and he's been pretty much left to rot since.

I know it's only Steve Howard but some people really underestimate what he brings to the team, Sven being one of them.

Every time I hear him he is talking about a different candidate as if it's a sure thing!

Regarding Howard, I don't blame Sven for not playing him. He's at the end of his career and we shouldn't be relying on players like him. However, not playing has made him very hungry, so I guess we have Sven to thank for that!

I wouldn't want him as first choice in an ideal world but he's a very good plan B.

I think you're probably right, Sven persisted too much with Vassell. Mind you, he's only not playing now because he's injured!

    Totally agreed!

He's still got a lot to offer the team, but nothing more so than an impact player with 30mins to go.

Nobody in the whole division could be a bigger plan B/impact player than Steve Howard.

In fact what money on Steve Howard being a great manager one day?

You wouldn't mess and he always seems reasonably measured when on the radio.

    Thoughts?
