My last thread was comments from people who went to the test and more than one source suggested that Red Bull were fastest by a clear margin. They were saying that unless McLaren produce a beastly car, it will be another easy Red Bull title.

German site AMuS (Auto Motor und Sport) seems to agree with those watching the tests live at Valencia - and they have done an analysis of the test without just looking at lap times:

    http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/...stanalyse-wer-ist-der-schnellste-3386588.html

    To Summarise:
    1. Red Bull: Car was fast from lap 1 and reliability was perfect too. the team was very secretive, AMuS speculates that redbull didnt even use kers acceleration yet.

    2. Renault: exhaust solution seems to be a joker for them. kubicas 95 lap showed that the heating problems are fixed. only the drivability of the engine has to be improved still. AMuS thinks that till season start redbull and mercedes will adapt a smilar concept.

    3. Ferrari: A solid car, its fast but not fast enough. They tricked arround with the setup to make the tires lasting longer. Team internal guesses are that they are lacking 0.5s to redbull. The team seems to have missed some innovations like the year before.

    4. Mercedes: Very hard to predict. The lap times are not great, but the drivers are very happy with the car. Schumacher still unhappy with the tires and hopes it will change till season start. Like the Ferrari the Mercedes is too conservative.

    5. Williams: Barrichello was consistantly running arround the circuit with 120kg of fuel in the car and guesses that Williams is lacking 0.8s (to redbull). the self constructed kers is working.

I know that at the moment it's only speculation, but the general view is that Red Bull have another fantastic car. It would make sense as well - the RB7 is the same DNA as the RB6 and RB5 - so naturally you would expect it to be fast.
