Hello everyone. Today I was going to write about Felipe Massa but due to his limited running, I have decided instead to write about our Jenson Button MBE. This great hero is an inspiration to all - and he has been working hard all winter to improve McLaren's new car. Even Button's teammate aknowledged how valuable Jenson's input will be. This is the sort of person McLaren needs - a leader - someone who works with the team, in order to help the team. Tyres are one of the most important things for 2011 - cars have to be designed to work well with the tyres - but then it is the job of the drivers to manage their tyres. Lord Button (as most already know) has a smooth driving style and to quote F1 commentator Martin Brundle "Jenson is just brilliant when it comes to tyre management, much better then his teammate" (quote from Japanese Grand Prix commentary). While other drivers were complaining of degradation (notably Fernando Alonso), Button MBE said "I like the feeling of the tyre. It has a stable rear when you enter high-speed corners, you have a stable rear when you brake for low-speed corners, and that is something that I really do need with the car. I am happy with that step." If the MP4-26 is a competitive car, expect Jenson Button MBE to be fighting for the title at Brazil.
I'm actually thinking JB could be WDC 2011. What an honour that would be too. With his skills of tyres management, I expect him to do very well.
The first step to winning the title is beating the teammate. Taking into account tyre degradation, racecraft and talent, I would say Jenson can overcome this obstacle. All he needs is a very fast car.
The first step to winning the title is beating the teammate. That's where Alonso had a massive fail n 2007. Couldn't beat his team mate.
I think JB is possibly the fastest person when a car is set up perfectly (see 2009, first 7 GP won all dry races) If he was in the RedBull he would have dominated again. But he's not so great in a bad car
AMCODOTG, if you are unable to make a decent contribution, don't comment. Try staying on topic. Fred, you make a great point. Button's driving reminds me of Kimi - on his day, he was unstoppable.
"This is the sort of person McLaren needs - a leader - someone who works with the team, in order to help the team. " Unlike Alonso who did his best to damage the team you mean?
Are you guys aware that there is an ignore poster option in the forum settings, why don't you use that or P.M. each other because it's very tedious reading spoilt threads all the time.
Ashbees, I'm going to do something I should have done a long time ago... ignore AMCODOTG - tbh I haven't done anything wrong in writing this What do you think about the thread?
Jose you are not welcomed here. The longer you stay here the less chance of people coming over from 606 : )
