It is highly unlikely that we can go third above Derby unless we win the next two and they lose the next two. The lowest we can fall is to 5th. So it is likely we will finish 4th or 5th, but I hope 4th as that means we play our second leg at home. It is looking most likely we will play Wigan and if we win the two legs play Derby or the 6th placed team in the final. But one step at a time, will we beat Wigan if it is them in the semi-finals?
Well we've taken 4 points from them, so have the psychological edge in that regards. Wigan have lost their last 3 games (cup included), and 2/3 of their last league games are away. Hopefully that'll put a dampener on their form heading into the playoffs. I saw both legs this season, and it was a fairly turgid even affair at the DW. At loftus road they were probably the better side, so disregarding the results...they'e had the better of things in terms of overall play, this season.
Yes indeed - at least we won't have to deal with them at Wembley, almost home turf for them. On the other hand, quite a scrap going on for 6th place with nobody really seizing the initiative in recent games - Forest currently 2-0 up at Leeds, Blackburn won, Ipswich & Brighton tied and Reading with a game in hand (as do Wigan).
Would rather play Wigan in the semis than the final. Wembley is like their second home. Two poor sides will be playing the other semi (do not rate derby at all), so bring on whoever in that one.
Wigan are slight favourites over us to go up. The winner between us two goes up for certain. I reckon we can do it, we have the players and "all" we have to do is win two matches (we can draw or lose one semi final) and WE'RE BACK!
Wigan seem to be wobbling at present, perhaps they'll get caught. We just need to win our last two against relegation candidates to get our confidence up...
Ah the indomitable, unbeatable, indestructible Athletico of the north. The team that even Barcelona players have nightmares about. Beaten today was they? They're worthy of respect because they're a decent team but we can beat 'em. No problem.
We were awful today, just shocking. How many supporters of whichever club have experienced watching their team be unplayable in one match and then unwatchable in the next? I'll tell you now - if we're playing Fortune or McLean you can look forward to a jolly evening at LR or the DW.
Woops! You're right... True! I suppose it's worth noting that they've relished tournament style football in recent years
What a crazy division. On Saturday morning, Forest had not won in 12 games and were only heading one way. A couple of days later and they're a point off 6th!
