SMILING Rangers star David Healy gives the thumbs-up as he poses for a snap with a former Loyalist terror boss. Striker Healy, 32, grinned and even threw his arm around the shoulder of ex-UDA brigadier Jackie McDonald during a trip to Belfast. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/news/4100851/Rangers-star-and-UDA-boss.html ---------- RANGERS fans last night called on owner Craig Whyte to come clean over the financing of the club, as he denied using £24.4 million in supporters' money to help fund his takeover. Andy Kerr, president of the Rangers Supporters Assembly, said concerns remain about the club's short-term future after reports that four years of season-ticket money was being used now by the club http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/...ll-whyte-to-come-clean-over-finances.16639702 ---------- RANGERS legend John Greig and former chairman John McClelland joined forces last night to warn the club are in danger of being sucked into a debt spiral. Both had stayed silent since Craig Whyte gained control last May but revelations in yesterdayâs Daily Record about season ticket dealings prompted them to speak out. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/2012/0...aig-whyte-don-t-ruin-our-club-86908-23730169/
and yet you are only 1 point ahead even though you are owned by multi billionaires. not to mention the fact you havent won the league in 3 seasons. pretty sad that this is all you have to gloat about
No really When your main and only realistic contenders for the title sell their only ACTUAL footballer and don't replace him leaving a 34 year old bag of ****e to play up front on his own, it's worth a giggle on its own. When there's financial scandal after scandal bouncing about the papers at the same time, it's time to stick the boot in
And to secure that, you flogged merchandising rights, hawked your catering, aren't paying PAYE on current salaries, continued to spend more than any club in the country, structured deals through third parties, mortgaged future earnings and left yourself with no revenue streams. Just to keep up with the O'Joneses .
**** sake, Trev I don't wanna ressurect 606 patter but that blankie is starting to look a bit tatty. I've said this a few times but, last year, our rookie manager lost the league by a point, won the cup and lost the league cup by the width of a post in extra time whilst being outspent. I know he's having the rug pulled from under him but, even with cash to spend, Sally would not manage that <falkirkmuir>.
Celtic and Rangers have spent over the past 5 seasons roughly the same amount in outgoing transfer fees ... So, up to a point, the teams have been relativley equal. So, having a an experienced manager (in Smith) allowed Rangers to win 3 titles (just as Strachan had done two manager previous to Smith (Mowbray was a disaster) This season - Celtic had a very poor period where injuries and lack of form allowed Rangers to surge ahead by 12 points. Celtic, by finding form and getting key playesr back from injury, turned the 12 point deficit to a 1 point lead (with a game in hand). Celtic have added to a strong squad (and kept our best players) - Rangers have sold their best player, downsized the squad, their second best player is out for the season and a player, who can sometimes chip in with a performance, out for a few months. Also, Rangers have released their natural leader (Weir). Celtic are now in a position of strength - Rangers are spiraling downwards (in my opinion). It's Celtic's league to lose now - that's why Celtic fans are gloating! Surely you can see the reasons why!
Maybe we should try and not be too hard on them. At least Jelavic gets to keep that league winner's medal he won in November
Rangers are still better than the rest of the spl regardless of their financial situation so I'd expect them to win most of their games. Hence, celtic being only one point ahead says as much about the rest of the spl as it does rangers or celtic.
Admiral We'll see how Dundee Utd get on against them at Ibrox on Sunday. A defeat on top of everything that's happened will likely send the player's confident crashing. And it will probably push the fans over the edge as well.
forget who we're playing for 1 minute and think of your own games. hearts away is no walk in the park <commons>
