Sneijder to Sky Italy:"I spoke a lot with Moratti.Moratti said that I'm closer to Galatasaray but I could stay? That are the right words"

Sneijder:"If I can stay at Inter?Inter fans are best ones out there. There are only 2 options,Galatasaray is concrete.I feel great in Milan"

    or Galatasaray

    Liverpool looks unlikely

    In other words.

No idea if the interview is recent

Another decent source on twitter is saying, Soren Lerby Sneijders agent is travelling to Liverpool today <laugh>, think the above info is more reliable as it actually has quotes

Sneijder has a 200K/week contract with Inter till 2015. Unlikely he'll come to Liverpool for half the money.

If Sneijder stays (and he was never an option for us imo) we might up our interest in Coutinho

Coutinho can play out wide or AM, young brazilian who, when Rafa was there, was used a lot and was a bright spark for them during Rafa's short time at Inter.

I think he would be useful and can be a player.

If FIFA is to go by, he will be an 86 for us. <ok>

    Edit - thanks Bluff <ok>

Are these rumours reliable or not?

Coutinho has not really hit the massive heights that was expected of him early in his career. He has barely featured for Inter this season, was shipped out to Espanyol the previous.
It was just a case of him leaving Brazil too early. I'd rather see us invest the 8 million on someone else. Plus he's way too lightweight, he won't last a day in the PL.

Mata? Hazard? Silva? Sterling to a lesser extent?

Don't buy this arguement about being too lightweight - 10 years ago yes maybe.. but the league is changing with more influx of these small technical players. Very few teams have a team of 6 foot plus players and play rough physical football anymore with a lot of teams trying to copy the "Spanish Way".

Beat me to it IBWT. We wouldn't want any of those skillful, quick, quality players in the attacking third. Give me a Carroll all day long.....

Lightweight might work at Def, CM, CDM, Target forward but I want my attacking mids and wingers to be the most skillful, the quickest, eye for a pass/shot.

Even if you're meant to be big and strong you're meant to throw yourself to the ground anyway on slightest contact...

Mata is pretty soid to be fair. Hazard can hold his own to if he wants to.

I think if he comes he'll manage to cope, but still not sure how much truth there is in these rumours.
