Where will he fit in, will he be a disruptive influence or be willing to play second choice to Migs as he runs his contract down?
Ignoring personalities, having two top keepers can't be a bad thing. Including personalities, it could cause problems within the squad.
Problem is that we need to get rid to free up some wages as well. I'd rather take about £5m for him get his wages off the books and invest it in areas where we need to strengthen. Can't see him staying with us come kick off for the new season.
Riena has said too much unfortunately but I expect total professionalism while he's back but I fully expect he'll be sold Crying fn shame
I would love him to stay, I don't care what he's said, but in all likelihood he will be off. I think having him this season just gone could have been the difference to us winning the league as well.
I don't really think so but who knows if he was the last 3 might have been different. In the end it's what ifs really 11 wins in a row means I think just saying some game before that would be different doesn't make sense as anything could have happened with that one change over the course of the year
There's no way of knowing of course, you're right, he too could have made costly gaffes but I trust him and his decision making more.
I don't really care what he said, tbh- any more than I care that Suarez was angling to move last season. It would be good to have two good keepers, but I'm not sure it would suit either to be second fiddle, or be very good for the team to rotate them.
The further you get in competitions the more money you make so having two 'first' keepers would pay for itself if they both performed.
Still doesn't mean we can afford to be spending nearly 200k a week on keepers, 1 of which may not play all season when that money could go towards getting in a new midfielder/defender.
Reina will be off as soon as we can find a buyer. Napoli have another keeper in their sights though so have dropped any interest in Reina for now. No one is currently wanting to meet our price - whatever that is, so he's on his way back here for now. He won't be first pick though, unless Migs has a few absolute stinkers in a row.
Don't think his head will be in the right place for it with what's gone on. Can't see it being anything but a problem.
There is still loads of time in the transfer window. There will be a big European club in need of a Goalkeeper at some point and with a price of less than £10million, Reina could be a good buy. As for staying, its a last resort option really. I have no doubt he would come back and be a professional member of the squad as he has been for the majority of his career. However the club has moved on and is looking to build a new team without him, he also has said too much to come back and start demanding to be first choice. He would be an amazing 2nd GK and would prove good competition for that starting spot, but I think the cons out way the pros this one.
He'd be the best 2nd choice keeper in the World (behind Casillas when he was 2nd choice under Mourinho) which is why I can't see him staying. A lot of teams in the Pre would have him. If Lloris goes to PSG, Spurs could do a lot worse. Then you have Atletico who could be without a keeper and wasn't Pepe's dad keeper at Atletico before? reckon he'd love to go play there. Back home for a club on the up and in the CL and current Champions...
imo it wont be a problem but just the word bargain from someone is just a no no.. that says it all... lfc have thrown money away on this. our own fault but i still think we've a guy who'll give it his best.
