I am pleased in a way because with some luck they will be able to follow us as we climb up to the top tier. Yes I know we still have to catch them but the thought of us having some more real local derbies(?) sounds good.
Only problem is it appears to be associated with SG and also at least one of them is part of a well known ' family' in Russia. Could be another coin wash laundry so nothing to get excited about yet.
You know when I said I wouldn't want any team to go out of business....I lied. Only joking! Why do only dubious people want football clubs (except the sainted Markus). Or is it that only the very rich can afford to and you don't get mega rich and remain squeeky clean.
Im sure Pompey will be bought soon, someone with a PO postcode will get more than 3 numbers on the lotto in the near future
Dam it, have been up in the attic to get me "green shield stamps. I swear I've got enough..... Keep the mafia out I say they have enough to cope with at Chelski............
On a serious note............. I've got mixed feelings about our fishy friends. While I have loved watching them struggle, lurching from crisis to crisis, from billionairre saviour to billionairre saviour while hating them for buying the FA cup a bit of me feels sad for the supporters. Or some of them, at least. There are a few who visit this site who talk sense, enjoy banter and rivalry and ignore the stupid behaviour of the few (in red and white stripes as well as blue) wums who pollute forums such as this. Without the blue few, we have no rivals. We would be like Liverpool without Everton, Holmes without Moriarty, Batman without the Penguin, Roadrunner without Wile E Coyote or France without, well, anybody really. Bournemouth and Brighton provide south coast derbies but the only true rivals are pompey, so I, for one, want them to survive. So, I am happy for them to have another saviour and I hope for their sake he is(marginally) more successful than the last few and I look forward to soundly thrashing them next season after we get promoted. COYS
I agree with all of that. After some really sick jibes when we were in the sticky stuff, I was almost pleased to see them hit the bottom. Then I thought about the ones that I have known over the years and realised that the bad stuff wasn't coming from any of them. I will also be pleased to see them come through to the other side in the same way I was with our friends in the west, Bournemouth. The deep south could do with a few clubs in the top flight to increase acknowledgement of our actually being here. Two extra special derbies against our deepest rivals would be more than welcome. I am salivating already as the prospect slowly becomes more of a reality. I pray that the players can keep the run going for a little while longer as we are now al;most in touching distance of our goal.
