http://www.epltalk.com/2011-12-premier-league-table-predictions-33634 the writer of the article predicts us to finish 6th above Tottenham and in the comments section quite a few people agree and only about 3 have us to finish out of the top 10. exciting times just goes to show how much we have grown under SNQ lets hope they're right come the end of the season!!!
I'd love to agree with them but it's ridiculous to think we're going to finish above Tottenham considering we're hoping to sign a guy, who can't get in their team, who will most likely be our best signing this summer. I reckon the writer's been smoking crack to be honest. Tottenham are going to struggle with their lack of strikers... Defoe, Crouch and Pav would all improve our team. The lad's insane.
Just so long as we get the results to back it up over the ENTIRE season & don't burn out come January. KTF
The day before kick off I think we will win the prem title. (deluded) The day after I may think we could go down. (doom and gloom) We thrash Newcastle and its Europe for me. (obsessed) We lose first 2 games. (Bruce Out) Up and down all season. (Sunderland supporter)
... And you wouldn't like it any other way?! For me, 10th or above and I'll be happy, stability is the aim of the next couple of seasons and anything above that is a real bonus!
For me 8th with out the winter slump would keep me happy. Anything more and I will get worried that I am about to wake up!
Same here. Maintain decent form over that period (we do have a slightly stronger squad overall I think which will help) and a top 8 finish isn't out of the question.
At xmas last season european football looked a distinct possibility. Unfortunately due to injuries, brucegate or whatever we had an alarming slump. We may have lost judas's goals but it would appear we have significantly strengthened our midfield which hopefully should yield more goals thus reducing pressure on our forwards. I for one do not think 6th is entirely out of the question. Difficult, yes. Improbable, yes but still possible. Thats my optimistic pre season head on.
