QPR not mentioned AT ALL in this article, goes to show we are way down the pecking order to develop Old Oak. I know most of it belongs to Car Giant but how sustainable are the plans going to be when there is a dirty great car park slap bang in the middle of the "neighbourhood areas"? Having a dirty great football stadium may not go down well either but sod it, I'm biased.
Hang on it says A new Central Square at Hythe Road Overground station – the size of almost two football pitches and the heart of Old Oak Park, a dynamic centre with a cultural hub, community and sports facilities, shops and a local market. So we could fit the stadium there Get rid of the market and it sounds like what we would propose anyway!
Phil Beard was brought in partly because he was mates with Boris. Both gone now and for whatever reason, TF & Co have pissed off Cargiant so not looking overly hopeful. It would stick in my craw to go shopping there if we are left out.
I wish they'd sort this out as it really seems pie-in-the-sky to think a stadium would be part of this when Cargiant are in pole position actually owning the land. Five years of TF and we're going f*cking backwards...
There is still a link on the offish to Old Oak. The day that quietly disappears is the day the project ends from QPR's perspective.
