http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/R...es-doubt-QPR/story-20956212-detail/story.html ... unfortunate but such is life ... wasn't that impressed with Dean Hammond last night tbf, so would probably opt for Andy King to come in ... thoughts?
Shows how thin the squad is really. I'd say the only places we have suitable backup is the defence with Konch and Moore and the wings with Dyer. We're going to have to build the squad up in the summer as much as anything.
... my thougts too ... ... could possibly consider dropping Nuge into midfield behind Vardy and Wood ... but would be a bit of a gamble (wouldn't miss him up front on last night's showing ) ...
id pick me nose over Hammond, hes total ****e,give the ball away all the time and carnt man mark to save his life
How many games has Hammond started for Leicester? I wonder about fans sometimes. Didn't Wassa get the same stick earlier this season after a few starts?
I think Dean Hammond has done exactly what was required of him Overall i think he was a very good signing. That said he has no future here after these 4 games
You have a point (although Wasyl didn't get any stick from me) but we have a title to win and really needed anyone coming in for a key player (in akey position) like James to hit the ground running ... and Hammond hasn't really done that ... he is effective when coming on later in a game to help 'lock the door' but far less so when he is on for the full 90 and expected to contribute to the flow and creativity of a pacey team ... which he hasn't ... his distribution has been pretty poor and that's not something that you can attribute to lack of match practice / fitness etc ... the moves have also stalled somewhat when he's involved ... for those reasons I'd plump for Andy King against the dramas myself ...
If Andy King starts, i can hear the word "missing" coming out of someone's mouth on the radio afterwards. At least Hammond gets himself about, could also put him in goal because hes good with his hands
Hammond does scrap away a bit more than king and for that reason id start him i think - I rate king but against brighton he was very VERY poor remember
You´re telling me he´s one for the prem ??? He ain´t got in the starting XI for a reason & now he´s only in it through injuries, how´s that going to change next season ? He´s one that will move on I think.
Part of the reason we have done so well this season is the mix of youth and experience. We only see what happens on the pitch over 90 odd minutes. What does Hammond bring to the dressing room or the Training pitch? Not a clue personally, but I can see the development that both DD and Matty James have experienced since he joined our club. Coincidence? Possibly. As Fosse states above, he has certainly helped us see out games. May need that sort of experience next season a lot more. Glad that is for NP to decide and not me.
No I'm not saying that at all. My comment was referring to people questioning the depth of this season's squad (we have four centre midfielders, which is fine) and calling a player that's barely had a chance to prove himself "****". Some fans sound spoiled at times. The fact that a quality player like King isn't getting into team is testament to the quality of James and Drinkwater. Hammond would walk into many Championship midfields, but is fourth choice with us. Hammond is used by Pearson to slow down the opposition and break up play. You'll notice he usually bring him on if we're already winning. The fact that Pearson played him at Reading shows Pearson expected a tough test and that's what we got. At home to QPR is a different situation; the onus is on us to attack. For this reason, I'd expect King to start - but it's nothing to do with Hammond being ****.
