A bit miffed for Harps in all honesty, but at least he's honest and accepting that his days are nearly up. Lets hope Timmy keeps up the good form and justifies the number 1 for years to come!

 

Sure Harps understands. Its only right that he is given number 1. Its like a final coronation as King Krul!

 

It was to be expected, Harps is still a great club man and can still help out in many ways, but Krul is the #1 choice now and should wear the #1.

I hope Harper stays at the club as a GK coach or youth Coach after his playing days are finished, the man is made of class and has got on with his job for the last 20 years or so without complaint or throwing his toys out the pram. Wonderful role model to young kids at the club and a legend in his own right hopefully he will get a run out tonight.

 

I think something like this is more than likely to happen.

If not, his services will be snapped up by some other forward thinking team. Maybe Clarkie would tempt him to sign up with them.

I do feel a little bad for Harps since he understudied Given for so long without complaint. Big respect though for him because he seems to put the club ahead of himself. Like everyone, I hope he can find a role in the club once his playing days are over.

 

Steve played with number 37 this evening. Good loyal player but when your times up, it's up. Krul now much better.

 

Good that he kept a clean sheet in probably his last game.

There are very few players as loyal as Harps these days. Absolute legend and gentleman. For such a long career, he's had nowhere near as many games as his ability deserves. But that's because he's stayed when we had Shay and now Krul. He could easily have walked far sooner and gone straight inot another Prem team. But he loves the Toon.

Really, really hopes he sticks around as a coach, as he seems to be have a magnificent influence on others and the youngsters could learn so much from him. Top keeper and a top man.

 

Think this is how almost all of us feel.

 

And full credit to Krul too. Just shows how well he has done to oust a 'keeper as good as Harps and be the club No. 1 at such a young age (for a goalie).
Well deserved and hopefully will be our No' 1 for many, many years.
