Looks like we have now got our man and it looks like Matt Fish will be joining him as his name has been going around so much today,
I think it will officially be made definite tomorrow.
Also seeing it on Kent Online which is one of 3 of what I would call trusted websites means it is near done.
    Great news.

Danny Kedwell has described a potential move to Gillingham as a dream come true.

A fee appears to have been agreed between the Gills and League 2 newcomers AFC Wimbledon which will enable the 28-year-old striker to join his hometown club.

Kedwell, who captained Wimbledon to promotion last season and scored the winning penalty in the Blue Square Bet play-off final, handed in a transfer request at Kingsmeadow the end of the season.

The front man, who is currently based in Sittingbourne, has been one of Gillingham’s priority signings over the close season and with the deal possibly set to be completed on Friday he could line up for the club as early as Wednesday in the friendly match at Ashford United.

He said: “It’s always been a dream of mine to play for my local team

"I always used to watch them from the Rainham End when I was a kid and had a trial with them when they were in the Championship.

"I’m 27 now, coming on for 28, and I’m hitting my peak and if I do go then I’ll be giving it my best.

“I’ve got ambitions, I’m a local lad and I would want to try and take them back to the Championship.”

Kedwell’s former clubs include Welling and Grays and he will add a physical dimension to the Gills attack next season.

Gillingham first team get together in full for the first time on Friday and it is believed a number of new signings are due to be announced imminently.
