    http://stv.tv/sport/football/136077...eicester-striker-joe-dodoo-on-permanent-deal/

... a measure of how far we have come as a club is that Glasgow Rangers strike force next season could well be Joe Dodoo and Martyn Waghorn ...

Thiat's Glasgow Rangers - huge club with European success and a proud history of incredible footballers ...

... can't blame the lad for wanting first team football and with the signings of Demarai Gray and Ahmed Musa and us chasing the odd Brazilian forward to boot, he would not even get a spot on our bench this season ... only downside is that we will only receive a development fee of £250k as he is out of contract ...

Will thrive in scottish football. Plenty of potential, will probably come back to England for a championship team if he can prove himself up there.

Well that is crappy news - is a good prospect and I thought he'd go there on loan and come back a better player.

... thing is BF we can't keep everybody happy .. he will come back a better player .. but whether good enough to ever get into an EPL team with title or even European ambitions is very much doubtful ... Denerai Gray looks the better prospect and he may well only feature from the bench this season ... we have some very good kids coming through as well ..

I thought he was one of those kids - probably thought what you wrote after Gray's performances and Musa joining as well.

Not all make it from the academy, Harry Panayiotou being a recent example of a good prospect that really hasn't established himself at any level.

In an ideal world we would maybe let them have him for free with a huge sell-on percentage and buy back clause

Not sure we can do that if he is out of contract. Again it shows how far we have come as a club when we don't resign our best youngsters because there is no chance of them getting a game. This is a great shame as I love it when youngsters from the club break into the first team and its good to see a few of them in Austria this week with the first team squad.

Dam shame he has gone, I think he showed a lot of promise. Just £250K for someone of that talent is a joke!

It is now - Rangers sign forward Joe Dodoo from Leicester on four-year deal.

Just in case you lads think I'm sat around looking for Leicester stories to come and post on here, I'm not. We're running a general transfer thread on our board with all deals on it, so when I post one that involves you, I pop on here and bung it on yours as well. <ok>

Don't worry about it mate - as long as you aren't taking the mick too much, you are welcome <hug>

As for Dodoo - I thought he was a prospect but unfortunately plays in positions where we are fully stocked.

Fair play to him. I think he knew it was either another year in the development team or out on loan so he choose to join Rangers

There is something in there because we offered him a new contract with us & he declined it.

They owe us compensation and have paid around £250K for him. No one will know about the clauses

It's shame he's gone as I always like to see an academy player come through, but we're quite well-stocked in wide positions now. He's got Schlupp, Musa, Mahrez, Albrighton, Lawrence, and Gray ahead of him so he'd likely only have been playing in cups, and at 21 he should be trying to get as much game time as possible.
