He scored a goal with a plum according to the text coverage yesterday. If he'd used his feet, I reckon we'd have signed him up.

Disappointing to be at a decision after one reserve game in which he scored.

Shame. As much as we love a good story, the people at the club will know best. Hope the lad still gets his chance in the championship at least.

Hopefully Pardew sees something in him. Got to be worth a punt.

This. It is completely risk free and can only help the lad get noticed.

After some of the rubbish we have signed over the years even if he didn't work out would never be classed as a failure

Watch Norwich take him and him make the grade now.

Maybe we can get Smith to drive him down there and ensure there's a mix up...

Sorry, but if Prior can't even get a super-cheap short-term contract after scoring a goal on his debut, how the **** did Nile Ranger get REAL Premier League appearances? It's beggars belief.

I really don't want to pay Bognor Regis £12,000 to be honest. I prefer a Xisco / Prior swap deal.

If the club don't think He'll be good enough, then I understand, I just don't see how they could have reached that decision so quickly.

Gotta trust our coaching team on this one, he might not be physically up to it in training sessions or something?

At very least this is great exposure for him and if we don't sign him, I'm sure there are a few league clubs who will be interested, someone like Hartlepool, which would STILL be a huge step up for him. <ok>

Never seen him play so can't judge, the coaches work with him everyday and I trust what they say. They have already said they don't want to miss out on another Carrick, so they must be pretty confident he isn't up to scratch.

Chances are if we don't give him a contract then the coaches must know he isn't up to the level. Scoring is fair enough but there's plenty of players have scored at reserve level who go on to not even play professionally, it's about looking at his strengths and weaknesses in his game and deciding whether he's up to it.

Obviously it's almost completely risk free but why waste the player's time? Plenty of non-league players go on trial to clubs all of the time, usually it means they get picked up by another side slightly further down the pyramid. According to Donachie on nufcTV there was plenty of scouts at the reserves game, so it's likely he'll get hooked up somewhere even if it's not here.

Hope he goes to Hartlepool - my mate supports them and he could let me know how he's getting along :)

Then maybe Jeff Stelling will have a song for him :p lol

This. Even if his future is not going to be with us, this trial will benefit his career a great deal.

Play in the same league for Worthing against Bognor, Prior looked a class above the rest of us. But i would never in a million years imagine he would be able to play premier league! Top player though! Hope he gets his chance somewhere else!
