I just been catching up reading yesterdays Post. I noticed that Ward will be back from his holiday this coming Monday and back behind his desk ready to sort the squad. There are quite a few players who are out of contract which Ward will be sorting out. The Hammer, Norburn, Harrison, Goddard and Harding have all been offered new contracts but have not yet signed. Negotiations have been put on hold with these players while Ward has been away on his holiday. If The Post is correct about this then I am not sure why Higgs or someone else couldnt get the contracts finalised and sorted while Ward was away. Seems strange to me as these players are free to walk away and join whoever shows them interest. The Post expects Harrison to sign a long term deal and expects Goddard and Harding to get 1 year deals to prove themselves. The Post also goes on to say that the number of appearances from Norburn last season, triggered a clause in his contract that obliged Rovers to offer a new contract. And Hammer has to decide whether to return back to Germany where his friends and family are or stay and help us try and get promotion. Should get confirmation on all their futures by the end of the week then.
