Apparently Scott Parker won't start training until the beginning of September after having an operation on his right achilles earlier today.

Looks like we are going to start the season without Parker, Adebayor and with an unsettled Modric just like last season.

It's gonna be a tough start for AVB. At least we don't have both Manchester clubs in our first two games.

afternoon KH....however unlike last season..im not sure if games 3 to 13 will be the same though..unfortunately...however...its important to re iterate at all times that regardless of how it goes..we will have to back the new manager.

As long as Sandro doesn;t get crocjked, we'll have a central midfield at the start of the season in Sandro and Huddlestone.

if we line up with a utility player and a youngster stepping up (i.e. Jenas and Carroll) for the first two games, then it will be a repeat of last season.

What do you think is the team if there's no one new in?

    I might go with

    Beni Vertonghen Kaboul Walker

    Bale Huddlestone Sandro Lennon

    Gylfi Defoe

I'm assuming VDV is still hurt. If he weren't, I might take my chances with no strikers, pair him with Gylfi and hope for the best...

It's disappointing that Levy hasn't learnt his lessons from last year. Very disappointing :(

cant buy people for the sake of getting someone in...if anything the lure of CL football may be costing us...and that is not Levy's fault....triffic.

I thought Spurs had a great first section of the season last year,City and Manure apart (no players in those two games!!!!!).Then we went to town.Hope we see it again but with 6 points this time against City and Manure.........I can but dream.
Is there another Joe Hart out there somewhere.......?

If we have a dreadful start then I can't see how we can bounce back and go on a run like last year and I know some of you have had enough of arry and his big mouth, even when he has left! but there is no denying when it comes to galvanizing players and letting the players relax and play their game, then he is one of the best.

I get the impression if things go wrong, the players are going to be flooded with tactics coming at them from all angles, over complicate things, then avb will feel the pressure...it may seem doom and gloom but I can't stress how important it is for us to have a decent start.
