Around now people start to think of WHAT LIES BEYOND CHRISTMAS the New year and resolutions and all that , and how did we do this year? can we make it better next???
CITY MUST BE thinking along the lines of .....

    PLAYED 22 2015/16 = WON 4 DREW 8 LOST 10 ...YEP LOST 10 GF 21 GA 38 = - 17 and 20 points in 20th
    PLAYED 22 2016/17 = WON 8 DREW 3 LOST 11 .... YEP LOST 11 GF 28 GA 27 = +1 and 27 points in 16th

THE FESTIVE BREAK MERRY CHRISTMAS HAPPY NEW YEAR ........ 3 GAMES HOORAY ...

    PLAYED 25 2015/16 = WON 4 DREW 9 LOST 12 GF 22 GA 44 = -22 ... ... CITY 1 REST 6 IN 3 GAMES

PLAYED 25 2016/17 = WILL IT BE BETTER THAN DRAW 1 LOSE 2 CONCEED 6 AND SCORE 1

In stark reality, we have so called spent a lot, got a lot of better players and we are

    ONLY 7 POINTS BETTER OFF

    Dean Holden ...... UMMMMMMMMMMMM

    pre Dean Holden played 16 won 7 drew 3 lost 6 GF 23 GA 19 = + 4 .. 24 points = 1.5 pts per game ( 1.47 GF per game 1.18 GA )

    post Dean Holden played 6 won 1 and lost 5 GF 5 GA 8 = - 3 .. 3 points = 0.5 pts per game ( 0.83 GF per game 1.33 GA )

    no judgement just fact

mmm more points, bigger squad, better players, bigger crowds and a profit in transfer dealings, maybe you should look a bit harder

If that's literally the only way that you're judging the progression of the club then that says more about you than the rest of us I'm afraid mate

Rob i'm not talking about the behind the scenes goings on,or the wider angle of Bristol Sport, just the football side which is why i go to Ashton Gate.
The rest of it is of no interest to me,apart from a Rugby game now and then.
Shall be there boxing day watching the Bristol v Worcester game with my sons.

I've got to be honest the only reason I go down the gate is to watch Bristol City, oh and to look at the great John Ateyo statue.. upload_2016-12-23_10-18-10.jpeg

YOU CANNOT DISAGREE WITH MORE POINTS they are on the board ..bigger squad .well that was needed, better players .? how can that be most of them don't get a game ! Bigger crowds cant argue with that, but poor results will see us back down to the basic minimum which is 16,000? (ST's etc) profit in transfer dealings, debateable during the transfer window yes but based on all dealings ????? who knows ..
Are we better off... that's a matter of opinion ..IMO at this point in time we just shade Dec 2015 on points all the rest is just a smoke screen until it clears and we sit in top 6-8 with 1 game to go ....

Well I think most would agree that Tammy, Magnusson and Tomlin have improved the team. But at least you agree that we are better off than this time last year.

We are slightly, very slightly better off than this time last year. But this current losing streak needs to be addressed before it becomes the norm.

'We are slightly, very slightly better off than this time last year'

Fiscally, I think we're a lot better off, we have 11 going on £15million for Kodija, £5million for Bolasie and £700k for Ayling.
Well done to the managers who signed them.
Playing wise, I like Tomlin, Magnusson and Tammy, shame he's not ours.
As for the other 8 or 9 signings it's hard to judge, we only see them off the bench.

Forgot about Albert, not sure if we had a sell on clause for him.
If so, we're even better off - fiscally.

Not sure if the word fiscally is the correct one to use in this context ( BCFC) always thought it had to do with tax and government expenditure etc ...:emoticon-0138-think

Slightly better off I will agree but whether we are in the right place is still up for discussion in my books and really only the end of season stats will paint the true picture. If we stick with Lee then he needs to be evaluated on a full season and the upcoming transfer window, combined with results thereafter, will be his chance to prove himself to me. Let's wait and see I suppose.
