I believe Lambert wants to build a sensible football dynasty here. Youth is also being prioritised. Ultimately, we won't be able to find and poach these lower league "Second chancers" but we will hopefulyy be able to create our own.
We deserve this club, this is the club Norwich were meant to be, we took the long road but we are finally not under-achieving.
I want Norwich to be the first, along with Swansea, of the new-age financially stable self sufficient clubs. New financial restrictions are an inevitability now. Of course the big boys are going to squirm about it and find every loophole you can imagine but I can see it becoming a pre-requisite that when you come into the premier league you are prepared to do so and you have to demonstrate you are a financially secure club. Either that your debt free are in the black revenue wise or you have a very solid financial growth plan.
I'm sorry, but the age of the QPR is coming to an end. Leicester are another one, just another faceless international conglomerate taking over a century-old institution with no real plan and basically cocking around with it.
The future has to be a future of sensible self-sufficient clubs. Otherwise we will lose the clubs we love so much.
As for Ipswich. Realistically I'd say they are 3-5 years away from a promotion push. They need to go completely back to basics, they are a boat with a hole at the bottom. They are sinking, just not quick enough to warrant a full on panic.
Our sinking was very quick, but ultimately it led to a revolution. Is this better? Yes, but it's not reliable, you can't predict how you'll come out of it. We did well because we a are a strong club, solid fanbase and for the first time in decades we had the leadership team with the know-how to act to bring the club back to life.
