I read an article many years ago ,although tongue in cheek, about the longest pass in football. this was from SCOTLAND TO DERBYSHIRE, or vice versa. anybody got a better one, both players must be the same team of course, otherwise it would have been BRAZIL TO SCOTLAND.
Not sure about that but apparently when Colin Milburn played cricket for Burnopfield he hit a ball 1.5 miles. According to legend, he twatted it towards silly mid on & knocked it out of the ground. The ball landed in a pick up truck which was seen by kids outside. The truck was on its way to Byermoor tip some 1.5 miles away. Or so they tell me, I came from around there when I was a kid and it may just be possible, the old locals swore it was true.
PB, think this was done a while ago however, cannot remember how you came by your moniker. Explain please.
how about burnley's team now. it's a kevin (LONG) pass, to clark CARLISLE, who chips it all the way to charlie AUSTIN (texas)....
David Seaman used to be able to throw a ball to over Mars - that's a long way. And don't forget, Glen Hoddle found God.
My dad was playing golf at durham city, he sliced the ball off the tee onto a coal wagon heading south on the railways. So he said anyways
