When we beat Liverpool I'm pretty sure it was 1-1 when Rosenior came on and we switched to 4-4-2. We beat Fulham and Boro playing 4-4-2 as well. I am worried that after we almost got something at Spurs with 3 central defenders, we have reverted to this and it hasn't really worked. It was great for half a season last season but then it was seriously creaking towards end of last season too, and as we get nervy it turns more and more into 5-3 -2. I think we might need to be a bit more daring to get the 4 wins or so that we are going to need. Anyone else agree?

I think 352 is bruce's go-to formation when playing big teams. It seems much more defensive. I'd wait and see what he does for the next few games since it's getting a bit easier.

I want to see 4-3-3, if we get Jelavic and long. The back 4 with elmo and fig gives width, hudd and meyler protect defence, livermore is industrious and gets up well, Jelavic will occupy centre halfs, leaving two from brady, aluko and long to give width and pace, plus can act as normal wingers when under serious pressure

Oh god no, i've had enough of elmo at the back. Put rosey there as part of the back 4 and i'd feel much more comfortable. And figs been a bit shakey recently, and he also doesn't get forward as much as i thought he would.

I'd be really chuffed with 4-3-3 but it has to be Rosie instead of Elmo at RB. Figgy isn't a wing back, he's a LB or a left sided CB. Sadly I fear that Brucie has got the horn for Elmo and for putting him in a 3-5-2.

Don't the yellow cards get wiped off after December?

After 31st December, you need ten yellows to get a ban.

    Rosey can play left back.

It just means we'll have to play Elmo at RB...

I would prefer rosie at rb too but his delivery and attacking play don't impress sb that much or he would be playing week in week out

Rosey covering at LB is not an issue right now as Figgy isn't suspended, but even if he were I really wouldn't want to see Elmo at RB in a back four again under any circumstances.

Frankly I don't want to see Figgy playing LWB either - he's so much poorer there than at LB or on the left of a back three. Let's hope Brady gets his Gilmores Girls sorted out soon...

Elmo has improved in recent weeks, IMO, he seems to be doing his defensive duties better.

    McG
    Elmo Chester Davies Figgy
    Meyler Thudd Livermore
    Aluko
    Jelavic Sagbo\Long

    ala 2008!

Wasn't there a deadline of 1st January for players to get suspensions for 5 yellows? Think you need to get 10 now.

Also Dudgeon is nowhere near playing I think. His fitness seems to be an issue still. I'm not convinced he'll play again any time soon.
