A nice, clean derby void of red cards and penalties. Hope there are many more that take this route in the future, not the same result mind you! Don't know about you but I'm fed up of what the derby has become recently.
There were a few reasons for this, Moyes didnt pack the midfield, he usually play a wide mid who is narrow ( Osman) and a striker/midfielder ( Cahill ), this game he played 2 up top and the wide mids stayed wide, which meant it was easier for Liverpool This wont happen next year, and was a one off game, it will be back to normal next year, Everton had an eye on the Sunderland game The other thing we didnt have a muppet like Atkinson reffing, we had the best ref in the prem IMO , in Dowd
i thought a lot was down to the ref not giving card sout tbh. cahill not playing made a difference of course to the madness. Everton played fairly well and had a patch in the first half where they took control but it didn't last.... perosnally i thought a couple of guys and fellieani in particular deserved a yellow and was not given one so i thought the ref was really trying not to send anyone off..... all in all evertons tactics were not to close down up top at all it seemed and spearing had ages o nthe ball, as did our cbs. evertons probelms stemed from there. finally with suare zon the pitch the ref was never oging to wave a yellow at anyone he was fouled by cos ferguson said so...
I agree there, nice ot see the BS was left out. Yer lot just didn't turn up and add to that the omissions form the squad, but you could be forgiven for expecting a goal from the chances ye had on the night.
If SAFC had played 'clean' against Newcastle we would have also been clobbered. Martin will play 4-5-1 on saturday, Campbell on his own MClean our new wonder player on the left, Larsson (master free kick taker) Vaughn and another two with O Shea great against liverpool, Turner, Bardsley and maybe Bridge. We miss Sess and Richardson though. Lets hope it is a cracking game and 2-2.
