Not too impressed to be honest, definately doesnt look anywhere near as influential or commanding as Schmiecal. Lets hope he improves along with rest of team before we play a proper team.... Only my opinion (if I'm allowed one ....)
Not a bad keeper. Probably not as good has kasper or the potential kasper has. Reminds me of higgs in alot of ways. Not unhappy with him
Need to give a few more games...felt he should have had the second goal last night...he looks better in the air than Kasper but not at shop stopping.... jury out....
i reckon hes done okay but just ok, the first goal against southampton he shoulda saved and the second bradford scored he shoulda saved but he has also made some good saves and he seems better at commanding but he can do better
I thought he had little chance with any of the goals and was let down by the defence. I'm also sick of hearing about kasper, he's gone for whatever reasons. Let's move on and get behind our new keeper.
Spot on. When he has had a chance he has done well, some of the finishes so far no one would have had a chance with due to the attackers being able to get just about anywhere they want.
No keeper could have saved any of those goals,constantly left unprotected by our **** defence. So mighty no,he hasn't done too much wrong.
Should have done better with second, he palmed it into the corner but it was a ferocious shot so I`ll let him off. Personally think he will be excellent for us, there is little he can do if our CB gives the ball straight to their striker for a free shot on goal, even Dino ****ing Zoff needed a workable defence in front of him to help out.
Oh, and Dino ****ing Zoff also let a goal in at the near post through his legs (Socrates WC 82) so all keepers let the soft ones in now and again, goes with the territory in that position.
I would say an average goalie certainly no better than Kasper and has very poor distribution and hates a back ball unless he has more than an average amount of time. Still can't see why we didn't take Stockdale on loan as well as sign Lonergran, if Stockdale was called back we would have still had Lonergran
I think Lonergan came to us because we were offering first team football. It's too early really to say IMO. None of the goals were really his fault, Bradford's second was savable but it would have taken a superhuman effort to divert it with the power it had. Looked a bit nervy at times last night but he did have O'Brien and Parker in front of him. Solid 6/10 so far I'd say.
Agree too early to make a real judgement but I don't think he is going to attract any attention from other clubs looking for a keeper put it that way, an improvement over Kasper?? In some ways yes other ways no, can't help feeling a like for like swap, certainly does not look like we have strengthened the defence with him in goal.
Got to rememebr a goalie who has it all would be in Prem though, there will always be some deficencies at this level in some part of a keepers game, relatively speaking.
