Phil - and the Council in control of the Camden Tower is........

and the Party in Government when
Camden was refurbished was........

As I've said earlier, Labour & Conservative Councils & Governments are all culpable.

As for emulating the Swiss - I know that Country fairly well. I agree that we will (probably) never emulate their success but my comments were directed at Dai's statement that a lone wolf never survives ..... <cheers>
Still May's fault. ;)

The government is in panic mode as Brexit is falling apart not just with the EU but within the Tory party and other parties as well.....The single market is the main issue that wont get the mandate it needs and with the single market we have to have freedom of movement between all EU countries and that is a good thing for our younger generation who can travel and seek work all over Europe like we the older generation have enjoyed for 40 years.....Mrs May is a remainer at heart and is the wrong person to negotiate anything as she is bound to have a conflict of interests.....Who can negotiate better is the question because every leader are remainers and would be in the same boat....The only way is what i said weeks ago and now favored by many MP's and that is a Cross party Committee Who can thrash out the best deal for all of the UK that will get past Parliament and the House of Lords and then go into negotiations with the EU.......Of course agreements with the EU could still not go through but a few tweaks and we may reach an agreement ......The best course of action to stop austeresty and bring back the pound that makes everything stable again is to admit we never had a plan in place and was ill thought out and unworkable and very expensive and the best and cheapest way is to remain ..

Historical both parties are poor, but it seems at the minute Labour run Wales has put the safety of it's people living in these tower blocks first, and they have the correct fire safety in place, no evacuation of tower blocks in Wales?

I have family living in Basel, and I also am familiar with how things are there, we would never get to that model in a million years, because capitalism is uncontrolled here in the UK.

You might wonder why I target the Tories so much? Simply that Labour is the lesser of the two evils, not to mention also their vicious attacks on the most vulnerable in our society, of recent times....... <ok>

I'm not having a go at you by the way Taff, but the agenda that has gone on these last 7 years has been iniquitous.....<hug>

Why you posting this on the London Fire thread and not the Political Thread? <doh>

More political point scoring I see ,do you honestly believe that , it's probably more luck than judgement that we haven't had something similar although no high rise building so far inspected have been found to have the but that's not say there hasn't been similar materials installed and that won't be confirmed yet .There is still differing advice on what residents should do in the event of a fire and disabled people are still being housed within these structure .

If you read the statements from the local authorities in Wales, you will know it's far from luck, and the contrast with England is obvious to anyone with an ounce of intelligence. So clearly Scotland and Wales gave these Tower blocks far more safety measures than did England, and none of this garbage plastic panelling has been used on the Tower blocks, good for you to read the statements on Wales online, you will see it's nothing to do with luck or political point scoring.

As I said the inspections have yet to be completed and there is disparity between what advice is given to the residents on how to react in the event of a fire .You have made a sweeping statement without any evidence to back it up , how do you know that all the other English councils will not report back that their precautions are as good if not better than Welsh councils ? and yes I've read what WOL has posted and it has not provided conclusive evidence to support your claims ,

Many Industrial & Retail Buildings here in Wales (England, Scotland & NI) are clad in Foam Injected Composite Panels....

Similar to, but not exactly the same as the Curtain Walling Panels used at Grenfell or in Camden.
