How much is A fairly strong West Ham side as well as strong Arsenal and Spurs sides gonna screw us over next year? I don't expect us to go from 6th to any higher than 3rd but difficult trips to Upton Park, WHL and even the Emirates in intense atmospheres will be tough as well as the CWC in December. The Euro's basically means no break for Terry, Lampard, Cole, Cahill, Mata etc. Genuinely can't wait for us to go to White Hart Lane, Upton Park and the Emirates and give it large after winning the European Cup, we definitely need some of those inflatable CL trophies
We've done well at Upton P in recent years. Frank loves it there. We're due a heavy win at 3PL. Modric and Torres to get two each
west ham always worry me, i think i saw them turn us over the bridge twice. arsenal we really need to put back in our pockets and as for spurs they never bother me to much, unless they park the bus
Yeah I used to hate playing West Ham pre-RA. They were probably our toughest opponents to beat other than Arsenal. Even Liverpool or United was an easier game
Honestly I cannot wait for all our London derbies next season, especially the away ones. Arsenal, 5pu1s, Fulham, QPR and West Ham all in one season. The chilling and unnerving atmosphere is what creates the buzz for me.
modric has already said that he wants to stay in the prem, preferably london. so that means chels or @rse, only one winner there
Yes and you told him to wait and see, that you'd give him CL football and you didn't deliver. How on earth can you be so naive?
As Defoe said a few days ago - we finished 4th, which every time previous has been good enough to get into the CL (at least the qualifier) - what Chelsea did was out of our hands. Still, you'd like to think a player like Modric would show a bit more respect, hold his hand up and say 'I didn't play well enough last season', put his head down and work harder the next season. Alas the days of the loyal footballer are over. Bar a select few, they're all mercenaries now. Modric isn't good enough for his rating in my book - he doesn't score enough - so if you want to give us £40m then by all means
One of Bale or Modric (the latter IMO) will go I guarantee it. Your days of big spending were done 3/4 years ago. With a new stadium to be fimanced and your limited revenue due to the size of your club and no CL football do you honestly believe your going go be able to sign Vertonghen, Remy, De Jong (Siem), Adebayor etc and offer Bale and others more lucrative contracts without others making way. I was absolutely certain that Drogba would leave as I was Ballack and Deco. The days of not being able to check your wallet are long gone. If Spurs are serious about a new stadium assets are gonna get sold
Modric will go - Adebayor wants to play for Spurs and I think he'll take the wage cut. Vertonghen is nearly there from what I heard earlier (although then I read another article that says he's cast doubt on the move) - so who knows! Remy has said he wants to come to Spurs so long as Harry stays. If we have Ade, Vertonghen and Remy in, Modric gone - good Summer for us considering.
Football fans moan about players not being loyal to clubs but what loyalty do clubs show them? Did City show Richard Dunne or Stephen Ireland any loyalty once the Sheikhs came in? Did Newcastle show any loyalty to Lua Lua when they forced him to go out on loan and then booed him when they played against them? The days of football being a sport with morals and principles are long gone now. It's a business. Arsenal don't hesitate to show their players out the door the second they've turned 30. Modric has shown Spurs loyalty, in fact plenty. Stood by the club after you were bottom with 2 points in 8. He has outgrown the club now as has Bale, why shouldn't he want to move to a club that can match his ambitions?
Ah well now you come to something else - the little thing called 'Levy currency' He'd probably sell Modric for £30m if it was to a club abroad. I think if Chelsea offered £40m now like they did last year, he'd sell now.
