London Broncos have confirmed that next season they will play their home games at Priestfield. Maybe good for the clubs revenue but this doesn't sit awfully well with me, the pitch will take a hammering. If you look at clubs like Bristol Rovers who play host to Rugby teams, by Christmas their pitch is absolutely abysmal and I fear ours would share the same fate. Not a great move I feel and would restrict our ability to at least attempt to play football on the ground. Thoughts? Link:http://www1.skysports.com/rugby-league/news/12212/8005428?
Not good at all. The pitch isnt the best by christmas as it is! Was Martin Allen told about this seeing how much he wants us to play football and not hoof it forward all the time!
Are we desperate for revenue ? I'm definitely not in favour......however.. Isn't the rugby season now in the summer time - so perhaps not as bad as feared.
Super league is definitely in the summer. When revenue is harder to come by. I honestly don't have an issue with it. Rugby league doesn't stuff the pitch up as bad as union either, no scrums etc. All we can do is see what happens.
Pitch will be fine, people have the impression that it will be hammered by scrums and rucks. Rugby League is nothing like that and will only be as bad as sharing with another football club. Before Brighton is brought up as damning evidence, that was 10+ years ago now and the ways the pitch can be protected has come on leaps and bounds. Good bit of business.
