London Away Crowds, Is QPR, Watford, Millwall Or Charlton The Top Travellers? Dec 12 2013 The away support of championship clubs Charlton Athletic, Millwall FC, Queens Park Rangers and Watford FC is simply staggering given the competition from six Premier League teams and a total of 14 League clubs in London. But then loyalty, or as the bean-counters like to call it ‘brand loyalty’ is stronger in football than anywhere else. Rangers have taken more away than any other London club this season, but it is Watford who just about pip them as things stand. Millwall sit third with Charlton fourth, but the two do have more local derby games to come. The Addicks also have Reading the top supported destination of both the Hornets and Rangers. Indulge me in a wee tangent if you will, as you crave the stats as much as something to unwind, perhaps a wee dram before, or after, the working day. There will always be bit of a soft spot in my heart for QPR, taken there by my dad like his dad before him, only for him to introduce me to The Arsenal at a tender age (a 2-2 draw). The Hornets took over 2700 to Birmingham, with The Rangers high of 2153 at Reading is not too far above their 2107 at Millwall and the lengthy away-day on the cider at Yeovil as 2105 partied. Charlton’s highest outing so far has been to Watford with 1784 in attendance. The Addicks also took 1447 to Bournemouth, but with the QPR, Millwall and Reading derbies still to come they may not end up with the wooden spoon after all. The Lions mustered a massive 1778 to Brighton and have seen three other takes circa the thousand mark, against Burnley, Reading and Bournemouth. Watford and QPR both boat three over the thousand mark too with Rangers calling out 1800 for Charlton. Erm.....it was all going so well with the artical until he states that Bob Hazell's knee beat WBA at Highbury in cup semi.....we all know it was Clive Allen who scored that day.......Also he still thinks that Charlton have to play us at LR and that we managed to take 1800 to Charlton when we don't go there until later in the season........ Also how the hell did watford manage to get nearly 3500 tickets to Reading when we were only given 2500 by them......still he doesn't figure in the 40 odd of us in Kilkenny for that game or the Oz lads in Brisbane, so we almost had as many as watford!!!!! Other than that impressive figures.......
