I really want rid of Duchatelet but I am having severe reservations in this Australian Consortium. How will the decision making work? If two investors have equal shares and both want different things how will an agreement be reached? They may have the money to buy the club but can they afford to run it over an extended period. Especially if we stay in League 1 for a number of years. There are more questions than answers.
Bump. 12 days until we face Sunderland in the opening game of the season. This has been, without doubt, the worst and most pathetic pre season I have known - quite a claim given the Murray - Spivs - Duchatelet carnage of the last 12 years. And still no credible fan can answer this - if Andrew Muir really is passionate about buying Charlton, why hasn't he done so in the last 15 months, using his own money?
Personally, if I won the Euromillions lottery, and had untold millions, I would not pay Duchatalet the asking Price for Charlton, and I'm a fan and want unlimited success. From a cold business perspective, it would make more sense to let Duchatalet continue to own Charlton, at which point the value Will plummet and it would become posible to pick the club up for peanuts. Nothing about the current take over makes a great deal of sense to me, from Duchatalet's apparent desire to rid himself of Charlton while putting a pricetag on the club that anyone with half a football brain knows is silly, to the multi millionaire Muir and his Friends inability to complete a takeover where they have apparentlt decided the price is okay, but they repeatedly fall foulf of the EFL and their regulations. We are obviously missing some bits of the jigsaw, and my desire to investigate is zero. It takes a fair bit of stupidity to reduce the general desire of the Charlton fans to see the Belgian marching away to such apathy, and it makes you wonder what the new regime will be like as owners if they find a simple thing like the purchase such a chore. The only thing I see as logical is the ex directors giving Duchatalet the two finger salute when he offered them 25% of their investment. All his money and he expects everyone else to cut their money so he can make more.
Mark Hulyer was probably the most passionate owner we had, and look where it got us. I assume that Muir wants to share the loss, that's why he hasn't used his own money. Subsidising Roland's losses as well as the losses we will undoubtedly incur in the coming years is a very big ask, and must surely be the reason everyone else has walked away, and why Muir may well walk away. When Roland said last year that he wanted to sell his clubs and get out of football he should have added "Strictly on my terms", because there's no sign of him succeeding in offloading them.
Without breaking any confidences, @DickPlumb and myself have been informed by a sensible, modest, long term Charlton fan this week that nothing is doing until Sept at the earliest. We are going into this season with Roland Piss Flaps & we are fvcked.
No, this guy is 150% genuine - this pathetic “ITK” stuff is just for the narcissists & attention seekers. Not one of them has been proved correct.
You'd post there too if you weren't banned. And Bexleyboy doesn't spend all his time trying to trash the take-over.
1. I’m not banned. 2. Bexley Boy is deluded he hasn’t got the intellect to trash a waste paper basket
