City also have the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign. Head coach Lee Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: “Loïs is a very interesting signing for us. “He boasts a good record in France and I believe he has all the attributes to be a big success for us in the Championship.” Diony joined Saint-Etienne in the summer from Dijon for a reported £9m, having scored 11 goals to help keep ‘The Mustards’ in Ligue 1. He made his professional debut for FC Nantes back in 2012, before joining his hometown club Mont-de-Marsan. Diony went on to help Dijon secure promotion to Ligue 1, top scoring for the team in 2015/16 and 2016/17. Subject to international clearance, Diony will be available to make his debut against QPR on Saturday in the Sky Bet Championship, having watched his new teammates in action at Ashton Gate against Manchester City in midweek.
Would look brilliant but think we'd miss out a bit without Pato in there. Having to shoehorn Brownhill, Pato, Smith, Pack and/or Walsh into that side could be tricky.
Assuming they're all fit and available - it'll be nice to actually be able to rotate a bit and not just run a skeleton team into the ground. I reckon Diony will be on the bench for QPR, so possibly a start for Diedhiou...

And before you know it you’re in a Tomlin situation as your changing the set up of the team again. The reason why we are where we are, is the way we’ve set up this season not last.
And O'Dowda when he's back. Can't see any future for O'Neil or probably Hegler at the Club. Woodrow will stay until Fammy is fully fit and re-integrated back into the team along with the new guy, after that he could well be sent back to Fulham.
Because of the new rules you can’t send a player back unless both clubs agree and we would need to act before the 31st. After that he cannot be returned as his registration officially ends until season end.
I’ve never been able to understand why Woodrow is with us to be honest. I think Taylor still has something to give though.
When he was on loan to Burton end of last season he was one of the reasons they turned round their season to stay up. I can remember quite a few on OTIB were happy when we were in for him and was singing his praises. It just hasn’t worked for him here, probably because we’ve been playing at the different end of the table unlike where we’ve predicted we was going to be playing. During pre season we had Djuric and Taylor both out injured which turned out to be a blessing forcing us to play Reid as a forward, as we only really had Diedhiou. We’ve had a few here that’s raised questions as to why, some bad and some that were better than we thought. One example being Chris Wood, who like Woodrow only playing small parts of a game, but now a £15 million Prem player.
Taylor has plenty to give, clever footballer, just needs to get his hernia sorted then he will be fit as a fiddle.
Lois Diony.. Everytime I see that name I cant help but say Louie Donowa in my head.. its staining my opinion of him and I haven't seen him play yet!
It's sometimes difficult for players to settle from other countries. Have a sneaky feeling Famara will welcome the addition Diony up front and both will thrive. Fingers crossed.
Both further down the pecking order I imagine, Lee doesn't use Woodrow at all , or at least very little , based on that I can only assume he doesn't impress in training , he will go back at the end of his loan period. I think Taylor has had injury issues since the beginning of this season, but because of injuries to the other strikers has had to carry on as best as he can, I've been disappointed with him , he seems to huff and puff, run around a lot but lack composure on the ball, and lack confidence in front of goal. I believe he played his part in keeping us up last season so at least deserves an opportunity to show what he can do once he's had his hernia operation before a decision is made regarding his future at the club . Personally if he doesn't improve I would move him on , I still think £300k was a bargain , if only to pi55 off the gas.
