If we don't get another midfielder in through unavailability of just unwillingness to spend the right amount of money, is it worth keeping Damour rather than sending him out on loan? I ask not just because he was our best player (OK, best of a bad bunch) on Saturday, but because we'll really struggle if Arter or Camarasa get crocked or suspended. It looks as though despite his valiant efforts, Gunnar is struggling with fitness levels or maybe even injuries, and Ralls is having a poor season generally. The "engine room" is going to be important in this run in and I wouldn't want to have to depend on converted "wide men" being used in there. Moving Bamba up has been an option but that's not ideal. Keep Damour until we get someone better if we can find them for the right money.
Bluey - Tameze could be an answer but then he's just another French guy coming over like Damour who couldn't quite make the difference - I'd still take him though. There's a history generally with decent French players taking time to adapt over here and that's somethng we just haven't got. The "One for the future" policy should be buried out of sight at the moment - it needs to happen right now.
From what I have seen of Damour, he's a handy squad player at this level, although lack of first team action will affect his fitness and alertness. I say keep him, you never know he may find some previously untapped skill and determination to succeed.
I was impressed with his performance on Saturday, as I was last season. He is though not cutting edge enough, very tidy and compact but missing something. I’d have him in though instead of Ralls who has gone backwards this season.
