Me and the crew were in the Lower Loft and have been told that unless we register children with our season ticket renewals we can't sit in the Loft (upper or lower) as this is the re-vamped family stand. More than a tad grudgingly we have shifted sideways to Ellerslie Road to seats that are Gold and not Silver so will only be price protected for one season. I can't be the only one affected by this so what are the rest of you going to do? If everyone fakes child applications the stand will be half empty and look like a joke. If you register kids then sell your tickets the stewards are going to know that the bloke with the beard next to you isn't 5yr old Daisy Ranger! You will be sussed. Can you imagine what the stand will look like for evening games? Even if I did register my kids and brought them along for free (under 8's - lovely idea in principle) there is no way I'd drag them out to a 10pm finish on a school night. I can only suppose that the club want to attract long term support and bring in youth early in the hope that they will graduate towards full paying members or ST holders. All well and good but it is at the expense of other long standing and loyal fans. If the experiment doesn't work out will the club be grown up enough to admit the error and go back to how it was?
They made a big mistake over this, you could have renewed with and adult and kid and upgraded him every gamer and kept your old seats. I also think the free u8 seats are a huge mistake, people get them so they can have a mate for the big games but the seat is left empty for 30 games depriving a real fan from seeing the game.
