Woking press officer was on Radio Bristol just now and said they were aware that there was going to be a big following from gasheads today so they asked Rovers if they wanted to make it all ticket and apparently our club said NO which as a result meant that over 300 gasheads were not allowed in today after making over a 200 mile round trip. So they have put the blame fully on Rovers. He was asked why couldnt these locked out fans be put in the home end as there was plenty of space and he said its a segregated area and they are not allowed to let away fans into the home area as their licence wouldnt allow it. Personally I dont know how this could be JUST Rovers fault. If Woking had doubts they should have just made it all ticket. Micky mouse stuff this is.
Lucky there wasn't an 'incident' today. Woking let far too many in. In the stand fans were being told not to stand in the gangways when in fact there were no seats left. On the terrace along one side of the pitch there was an overspill onto the walkway in front of the terrace. Add to this the number of fans locked out. No way were there 2,000+ Woking fans. A bit of creative thinking would have eased the congestion and let the excluded fans in. Their covered terrace behind the other goal was barely one third full and a line of stewards could have provided an additional area for Rovers fans. Oh....a totally forgettable game!
thanks p49 for the info. glad you go into the ground to see the game instead of being locked outside. but going by the performance, i bet you wished you were one of those locked outside!
