went to see our newly formed local team yesterday, the Waterford wolves. they played another new team- the south Kildare reapers. they play in division1 of the IAFL. delighted to say we won 14-12 as you can imagine the standard wasn't the highest but it was still a really enjoyable event. there are some rule changes at this level though. there's no goalposts so the pat is the same as a 2pt conversion . no punts either. if the team on 4th down doesn't want to go for it they can give the ball to the opposition on the 50 yard line. next games not for another 2 months though!
A good idea about the pat's. I don't understand why no punting though, unless there is a shortage of officials. But the idea of the 50 yard restart is a simple enough replacement.
