Just out of curiosity just wondering what everyone's local club is and their club of support is and why they chose that club. My local club is Chelsea and I supported arsenal because they were manus main rivals at the time and couldn't stand fergie and beckham. In addition i loved our kit! For the record I believe everyone has the right to choose their club and it doesn't not make them plastic provided they stick with it throughout thick and thin.

My local club was Norwich when I first started watching football. Have supported them ever since, wherever I have moved to.

My local club play in the BlueSquare North. The nearest league club to me is Tranmere Rovers.A few years ago it would have been Wrexham or Chester.I'm an Arsenal fan because they are the first team i ever saw play live.

Born & bred within 5 minutes walk of the spud's ground, which is not on White Hart Lane by the way :)

Burnley was my team of choice until I was about 10, then I switched to Arsenal.

I never went with the spuds because I virtually lived on the ground's doorstep and could see the type of fans going to the matches every other weekend and didn't want to be associated with the mouth breathers :p

Originally, I lived bang in the middle between Millwall, Charlton and Crystal Palace. But my Gran lived in Plumstead and I used to hang around with some lads who lived in one of the houses that had remnants of the old Manor ground terraces in the back garden. The first time I saw that, that was where my love affair with Arsenal started.

My missus' old dear still lives in Plumstead, so when I go back up to London to see the family I still drive past the Royal Oak in Woolwich where the team were formed.

These days my local team are Penzance FC. Nobody down here really takes football that seriously, they're all into Rugby <yikes>

Crawley Town. They were near the bottom of the non-leagues back then (Doc Martins league I think). Good to see them doing so well now.

I saw one match but never supported them properly. So I picked a London club, and a year after I started supporting Arsenal they won the FA Cup and League Cup double! Was awesome seeing them on the TV, and it started my love of football. Andy Linighan!

Or was it, you choose Arsenal because they were much more successful than the Chavs?

Nope. Just read CB's post again and he deifinitely says it was because we were Manure's rivals.

    Hope that helps :)

    Local team was Bohemians (Dublin).
Started supporting Arsenal after seeing them win 3:0 on 'The Big Match' with Brian Moore back in the early 70's.

Having a nice house in Surrey is a prerequisite for supporting Manure <ok>

I moved to Brighton before I started to watch football but chose Arsenal because at the age of 4 or 5 I didnt really know any more than I wanted to support a team that came from London. I didnt like the spuds or Chavs even at that young age and I sort of knew I came from North London so it had to be Arsenal. That was about 1975/6 and I had to wait a while to see any success. At that age the fact they had one the double 4 years before was a lifetime ago (my lifetime anyway) so being a glory hunter had nothing to do with it, but it is an accusation that has been raised in the past).

I follow Brighton as well and will be going again in a couple of weeks.

I have always lived in Plumstead so charlton are my nearest league team ... I became a spurs fan cos my cousins lived in tottenham. when I was 6 or 7 (mid 70's) I was at my cousins during a NLD and when the goons scored 1 half of the street came out and mocked the other when one of the teams scored...my cousins were with the spurs lot so I became hooked.

You became a Tottenham fan because you like public disorder? Seems logical I suppose :p
