So today marks the opening of the ''emergency'' loan window. According to Cawley he doesn't expect any clubs to start loaning until next week due to the maximum 93 day rule, thus loaning this week would mean the players wouldn't be available for Christmas run. Now, what do we think this means to us? Do you think CP will look to strengthen, or do you think it's a necessity? I'd really welcome a central midfielder as well as a wide player (happy with either a left or right winger being honest). Are there any names that we think are realistic options?
Once the premier league 25 man squads have been released you have more of an idea what is available. Expect about 20 players to leave arsenal, spurs, Qpr, west ham and fulham alone. Must be able to pick up a couple of good youngsters from those to add to the squad. One center mid, at least 1 wide player for me please.
Some big loans going through Lita from Swansea to Brum Broadfoot from Rangers to Blackpool Beckford from Leicester to Udders
I rate Lita - goal ratio has dropped slightly but he puts defenders under so much pressure and has pace to burn. That said, between Fuller, BWP, Kermo and Haynes we don't really need him. Beckford was dreadful against us. Not too fussed about him.
I still don't like the loan game. I think a bit of calm & patience can save the day here. We're all getting twitchy over not winning every week & shouldn't be. We are a statistical loan failure, let the team play, get Dale back in the middle and let some lads out to get some time. Re-assess January
Then where does N'Guessan fit in? I can't work out why we need him other than he played well for us on loan last season? Seems to me that we now have Fuller doing the role N'Guessan did last season.
I guess it's his versatility. Having N'guessan on the bench gives you an option for both wings and up front. I don't think we need him either, but I guess that's CP's train of thought.
He is unhappy at Millwall because he is not playing regular and we are getting him in to play from the bench? I can see trouble ahead.
I think it's more he doesn't get a look in at millwall. At charlton, he would make the bench and have more opportunities. It's nice to hear players want to sign for you and your manager, I just wish it was Ronaldo.
N'Guessen is tough, I liked him, was surprised to as well. He played well in a short time, but he isn't going to have much of a spot if he was to turn up now. Fuller showed his intent at Forest, Haynes is the Strike/Wing flex option. Good luck to Dany, I'd welcome him, but I'm not sure it fits for any party at this stage
I don't think that we need any loan players. We've got quite a big squad at the moment. We should see about utilising players such as Danny Green. He started off well last season, and with Wagstaff injured he should be on the pitch. Think we start to see small improvements when Waggy returns. Prichard has been great player, but I believe that's not his natural position.
Hopefully he does the same trick as he managed at Chesterfield and maybe some clubs will come in for him in January
That squirrel didn't die in vain then - I think Alan Knill's head must have hit the ground harder than he thought. Amen to that, IA.
Scunny need goals, he's apparently a goalscorer. Hope he scores enough to go, but not so many we consider keeping him!
Don't know why people are so critical of Clarke. Was at one point, one of the leagues top scorers, and he didn't really get a chance at our league winning team. If he's as bad as everyone's says, I should stop drinking at games and pay attention.
He was awful. He had a decent spell at Chesterfield granted, but looking over his career that was his most (only?) productive spell. I think he fell foul to us all due to his body language. He didn't seem interested in making an impression, and when he was put in the developmental squads for pre season, he clearly showed no desire to try and at least fight for his future. I know it was a step down and perhaps in his head an embarrassing situation, but other seniors like Hayes gave their best. Wether to change CP's mind or attract interest, it was irrelevant. But good luck to him. Hope he scores some goals and we can get rid on a permanent basis.
Though Di Canio did say he was crap. Starting to think he says that about anyone. Our next signing... That Swindon keeper?
