Hello and welcome to the fourth edition of Loan Watch for the 2012/2013 season. This is a feature in which I will keep you up to date with the players Brendan Rodgers has sent out on loan and inform you of their performances so far. At the moment, Liverpool have seven players who have been temporarily sent away from Anfield. They are: Jamie Stephens: Airbus UK Broughton. Danny Wilson: Heart Of Midlothian. Jay Spearing: Bolton Wanderers. Daniel Pacheco: SD Huesca. Andy Carroll: West Ham United. Adam Morgan: Rotherham United. Michael NâGoo: Heart Of Midlothian. Jamie Stephens- Airbus UK Broughton. please log in to view this image Jamie Stephens joined Airbus UK Broughton on the 3rd of January 2013. The young âkeeper is scheduled to stay at the âWingmakersâ until the end of the Welsh Premier League season. Stephens has already secured the goalkeeping position at Airbus UK Broughton and made his debut in an away game against Aberystwyth Town. Airbus fell to a 1-0 defeat after a late goal from Aberystwyth striker Mark Jones. It was a disappointing debut for Stephens but he was given a start and completed the full 90 minutes. He has since played in Airbusâs next 2 league games and those results have been much more positive. Airbus were away once again as they went to Prestatyn Town. It was an empathic victory as Airbus triumphed 6-1. It was the joint highest victory in the Welsh Premier League and moved Airbus up to 2nd in the table. He was then involved once again as Airbus were at home (Stephenâs home debut) and they won 3-1 against Afan Lido. Itâs been a good loan for Stephens thus far with some good match experience under his belt in a side which has been doing very well in the Welsh Premier League. Heâll now be looking to keep a couple of clean sheets for his side and help them push for the title! Appearances: 3 Clean Sheets: 0. Danny Wilson- Heart Of Midlothian. please log in to view this image Danny Wilson joined the Scottish Premier League side Heart Of Midlothian on the 18th of January 2013. He joined the Edinburgh club until the end of the season. He made his debut, at left-back, in a 4-1 defeat for Hearts at home to Celtic. It was a disappointing start to his loan spell but he completed the full 90 minutes which he hasnât done too much in recent months. He has since played in Hearts next three games which have seen Hearts win twice and draw once. One of those wins was a semi-final victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish League Cup. Overall, itâs been a good loan spell for Wilson thus far with some good match time under his belt and the chance of a cup medal at the end of the season! Appearances: 4. Goals: 0. Assists: 1. Jay Spearing- Bolton Wanderers. please log in to view this image Jay Spearing joined the nPower Championship side Bolton Wanderers on the 31st of August 2012. Jay is scheduled to spend the entire 2012/2013 season at the Reebok Stadium. Spearing made his debut in a 3-1 defeat away to Hull City. It was a disappointing result but Jay was received well by the Bolton support and put in a decent performance. He has since cemented his place in the central midfield and has played 24 times for Bolton. This has included a change of manager as Owen Coyle was relieved of his duties and replaced by the Crystal Palace manager, Dougie Freedman. In the time between Coyle being sacked and Freedman being appointed, Spearing scored his first goal for Bolton! It was a neat side-foot finish which drew Bolton back on level terms after falling two goals behind to Bristol City. Bolton went onto win that game and secure the three points. A change of manager always creates uncertainty for players but Spearing has been able to prove his worth to Freedman and keep his position in the side. All in all, itâs been a good loan spell for Jay at Bolton. He has got regular minutes in the midfield but he will be looking to help Bolton improve their league position as they currently sit 17 in the nPower Championship. Appearances: 24. (One appearance as a substitute) Goals: 1 Assists: 0. Daniel Pacheco- SD Huesca. please log in to view this image Daniel Pacheco joined Spanish second division side SD Huesca on the 31st of January 2013. The loan deal is scheduled to end at the end of the Spanish league season. Pacheco made his debut in Huescaâs home league game against Real Murcia. He was introduced as a half-time substitute and made the best possible impact. One minute after coming on, he got Huescaâs second goal of the game which secured a 2-0 victory. He might have only played one half of football so far but heâs got a goal and that will be a big confidence booster for Pacheco! Hopefully this loan spell will get Pacheco some goals and boost his chances of finding a good club who will give him regular football. Appearances: 1. (One appearance as a substitute) Goals: 1. Assists: 0. Andy Carroll- West Ham United. please log in to view this image Andy Carroll joined the Barclays Premier League side West Ham United on the 30th of August 2012. The striker is scheduled to stay at the Boleyn Ground until the end of the season. He made his debut for the âHammersâ in a 3-0 home victory over Fulham. It was an impressive debut for the England striker as he played a significant part in two of West Hamâs goals. However, he picked up a hamstring injury in that game and was ruled out for a month. After his return from that hamstring injury (A substitute appearance against Q.P.R in October) he got starts but he wasnât able to get on the scoresheet for a few more games. It was his ninth appearance when Carroll got his first goal. It was a late goal for West Ham in a 3-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur. His next game after that goalscoring appearance, an away tie against Manchester United, was one to forget. He picked up a knee injury which ruled him out for two months. His return was a substitute appearance in West Hamâs 3-1 defeat away to Fulham. His first start since that knee injury was a positive one. West Ham were playing Swansea and Carroll scored a 79th minute header which secured a 1-0 victory for Sam Allardyce and his side. Overall, a disappointing loan spell so far. Injuries have disrupted it but a goalscoring return on Saturday was a welcome boost and his overall performance was a positive one. Letâs hope he can build on Saturdayâs performance and put in some good performances in West Hamâs remaining games! Appearances: 12. (Two appearances as a substitute) Goals: 2. Assists: 1. Adam Morgan- Rotherham United. please log in to view this image Adam Morgan joined the nPower League Two side Rotherham United on 3rd of January 2012. It was a youth loan deal which is scheduled to expire on the 9th of February 2013. Morgan made his debut from the bench as he joined the action as a half-time substitute in an nPower League Two game against Aldershot Town. However, he wasnât able to make a significant impact on the game as Rotherham were already 2-0 down before he was able to get on the pitch. The game finished in a 3-1 loss for Rotherham. He was then given his first start for Rotherham in a home game against Edgar Davidâs Barnet. Morgan was on the pitch for 56 minutes and had some half-chances but wasnât given a clear-cut chance to get on the score sheet. He did power a header onto the crossbar in the first half but even if it had gone in, it wouldnât have counted due to a foul on the Barnet âkeeper. Morgan is there until the 9th of February and could play once more for the Millers. They travel to Burton Albion on the 9th of February in what is Morgan's last day on loan at Rotherham United. It is unclear as to whether the loan deal allows Morgan to play against Burton Albion. To summarise, it is good for Morgan to get some senior minutes under his belt and he still has chance to impress before his current loan deal expires and could see that deal extended. Appearances: 2. (One apperance as a substitute) Goals: 0. Assists: 0. Michael NâGoo- Heart Of Midlothian. please log in to view this image Michael NâGoo joined the Scottish Premier League side Heart Of Midlothian on the 25th of January 2013. The loan deal is until the end of the Scottish league season. N'Goo made his debut for Hearts in a Scottish League Cup semi-final against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. It was the perfect debut for Michael as he scored the goal which got Hearts back on level terms, gave the Inverness defence a torrid time and scored a penalty in the shoot-out which Hearts won! Not a bad debut i'm sure you'll agree... NâGoo has since played twice more since then. He completed the full 90 minutes as Hearts beat the bottom side Dundee and completed the game and got a goal as Hearts drew 2-2 with Ross County. His second goal in three games drew Hearts level at 1-1 and the game ended up finishing 2-2. All in all, a great start to NâGoo and his loan period at Hearts. The Hearts fans have also been very complementary of NâGoo and seem very happy with the signing and his performances so far. Appearances: 3. Goals: 2. Assists: 0.
Good to see Carroll, Pacheco and Ngoo all get goals on the weekend. With Pacheco, Morgan and Ngoo all on loan, looking forward to seeing Sinclair, Ibe, Nacho and Tex get some regular game time for the u21s and further their development
Brendan wont even allow him in the dining room..lol But at least if he plays well until the end of the season we may get some decent cash for him...
Dani's Goal on the weekend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waWmWoSq2gs Ngoos aswell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bbB5rCTG8g
Very true....Dani's reminded me of a few of Suarez goals. Ngoo seems to be a real force in the scottish prem
Ngoo scored again.....3 in 4 games.......May not be what Brendan is looking for. But he is a very good young player
Good to see Spearo getting plenty of games, hopefully he can come back in the summer and really push us to top 4! Many will see this as a joke, but I'm being serious
