"The Premier League will pay up to £15m to help the EFL secure a £200m loan which it will then lend to Championship clubs interest free. Loans are capped at £8.33m per club and must be repaid by June 2024." If the loan is interest free then it would make sense to apply for the maximum even if you are only going to put it on deposit.
In the conditions for lower league clubs there is something about not been able to buy players in the next transfer window, only loans
In the likely event of a club defaulting on payments, what are EFL going to do? Take out a winding up order? That may well end them. Surely, they'd have to write it off. I would imagine Ehab could pocket the cash and tell the EFL to go do one.
I believe Div one clubs will get a windfall of £375k & Div Two £250K to offset loss of gate receipts. I would piss myself laughing if the EPL do an Allam on the Allam's, say the £375k is a gift, only later to say they want it back, as the gift was actually a loan.
And what are the EPL expecting in return for this show of generosity. I doubt 'The Big Plan' devised by the so called big 6 is too far from their minds.
