It is possible that my views on loan signings are due to the fact that I am a young man of sixty years old!!However,I would love to see our club play next season with Sunderland "owned" players and not loanees, who,I believe, mainly are only playing for money! There should be a smaller limit on the number of "loanees" that a club can use in a season. Why should our club,or any other, for that matter,be giving premier league experience for the major clubs, such as Man.Utd and Chelsea???Welbeck and Sturridge are two players that spring to mind.Nothing against either player..I wish Welbeck was a Sunderland player.Am I wrong???

Different Views i suppose, not wrong and neither am i right.

Players can fail big time Angelari, Riveros even big name players, Owen/Aquilini/Robinho for example can fail miserably, so for someone like elmo i agree with the season long loan as long as we have a price to buy sorted before we get them, dont want them playing mint and then their parent club slap a stupid price tag on).

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt, but tbh i would hate to think where we would be if we didnt have welbeck between Oct-Dec when he was excelent, and onuha has been good when he played.

Out of all the Loan players we have brought in, only Muntari hasnt really cut it so far, but he still has a few games to prove himself. Mensah as well i suppose, peronally with mensah i think its a case of, cheers for the service, but bye bye next year, unless we can be sure he has his injury behind him but i think he has to go under the knife for that, but its pointless loaning him again.

  3. Good for the books, good for the fans if it works but a false dawn anyway. If they succeed then the parent club keeps and demands a kings ransom. Debated this years ago when Given was at loan to us. It's HP at the end of it all..

Yes, they are good. I would rather have Welbeck this season on loan than not at all, it's a good way of getting good players who won't get a game at their own club for free, and it's a no risk situation; if we had actually bought Mensah in the summer! <yikes>

don't see the problem taking a loanee from abroad to see if they can adapt etc. or going to lower leagues.

but grooming one for another prem club, doesn't seem right,

look at sturridge, ok he's done well at bolton, but now they wouldn't be able to afford him,

it's win win for the money clubs..

Loan players do have a role to play the fact we've brought in far too many for our liking is annoying but, we couldn't have survived without them in my opinion. Next season we'll still have loan players but, not as many as said the more Sunderland owned players we have the better.
If a player is good enough in the eyes of the manager a 3 month loan deal then permanent deal if it works out should be the way to go, not season long loan deals giving the big clubs better players back after the year and increasing their value for them. Onouha and Welbeck have in my opinion played for us and the shirt the rest have been playing to get noticed by bigger Europe bound teams.
