http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...rd-Arsenal-eight-other-clubs-keen-News-Gossip The 17-year-old impressed during the Black Cats’ pre-season tour of France, scoring the opener in their 3-2 win over Dijon. He made his Premier League debut by coming on as a late substitute in Sunderland's 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough, before going on to make his international bow for Sweden’s Under-21s. And Swedish outlet Expressen claim his progress has not gone unnoticed with Newcastle andArsenal interested in signing the teenager. It is claimed the Magpies sent chief scout Graham Carr to watch the forward during the 1-1 draw with Spain’s Under-21’s on Monday, while the Gunners are also keeping tabs on Asoro. Newcastle are desperate to secure an immediate return to the Premier League and Asoro could see dropping down to the Championship as a chance to secure regular game-time. While the Gunners are renowned for nurturing young talent and they could move for him with the future in mind. The Chronicle report that eight other clubs are also in the race to sign Asoro with Inter Milan, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Lyon, Valencia and Villarreal also sending a scouts to watch him play for Sweden. Asoro, who joined Sunderland from IF Brommapojkarna last summer, remains diplomatic over his future despite the interest in him. “I’m not surprised by the fact that many scouts were there to see such a beautiful match,” he told Swedish TV station TV 12. “I do my job, we’ll see about the rest later on.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------- You wonder if papers have actually seen the way Newcastle work and do business - offering him playing time in the championship They'd try to sign him, and probably sell him in the same window if the right offer came along! Arsenal is a different matter though! Hope we see someone we can turn into a footballer! (not that he's far off now TBH!)
We could loan him to Newcastle where he could get some playing time in a lower league He has already said he is staying here as this is the best place for him - chronic and the echo stirring s*it again as they do - see the post last week about the mag obsession. The echo must be having a low news day
I'd send him on loan to the mags for a few months in a heartbeat. Under the caveats that we give him a little game time in the coming weeks/when he comes back, he's made aware he's got a big future at us and as long as he loves the club. Be great experience for him. Their fans might go ****ing mental about it mind.

Be great experience for him. Their fans might go ****ing mental about it mind.[/QUOTE] I was thinking along those lines but 2 things changed my thinking 1 Our lack of strikers will probably mean more game time for him 2 Does he learn his trade from Jermain Defoe or Daryl Murphy? (thats retoracle btw)
Different players, for me Zorro is the perfect cover or foil for Defoe, and both will benefit from Vic when he is needed. We have such a small squad all three will contribute in the run up to Xmas.
Agree completely mate. Just a general, I'd be fine with a young player going to the mags comment. In January if we sign and have more competition sort of thing.
In reality, were Newcastle not the local rivals sending him to such a big club, big crowds, for game time and experience would be ideal. Their fans would go berserk though, it's a complete non starter.
