Bristol City linked with Southampton winger Lloyd Isgrove By a_stockhausen Bristol City are being linked with a possible move for want-away Southampton winger Lloyd Isgrove ahead of tomorrow's transfer deadline. The 24-year-old Saints player does not feature in new manager Claude Puel's future plans for the Premier League club and he is desperate to leave St Marys during this window. Robins head coach Lee Johnson is resigned to losing the services of contract rebel Luke Freeman and Isgrove has emerged as a potential replacement for the former Arsenal and Stevenage winger, who is a target for QPR. Johnson knows Isgrove well, having signed him on loan while in charge at Barnsley last season. The Southampton raider made 35 appearances for the Reds, playing a key role in the Yorkshire club's League One promotion and Johnstone's Paint Trophy winning double. But if City are serious about taking Isgrove – and Southampton will demand a fee – they are likely to face competition from other Championship clubs. Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy is also reported to be showing interest in Isgrove, who has made just six first team appearances for Saints since joining them in 2012. An electric winger, who is good with the ball at his feet, Isgrove is blessed with natural pace and likes to run at defend. http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/bristo...ran-interest/story-30096395-detail/story.html
Forget Isgrove, surely this is us...... An unnamed Championship club has made an £8.75m bid for Manchester City's Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy, 26, who is on loan at Huddersfield Town. (Bein Sports) - from the BBC football gossip page. I wish it was us, as he's the only decent Aussie footballer I've seen since Cahill in his prime, I suspect however that it will be a team like Newcastle Utd.
Junior saw Freeman last season, thought he wasn't up to Championship and signed Paterson and O'Dowda. Is he now, after seeing his new signings perform, regretting his judgement. Now he's after another winger, he hasn't a clue. Reminds me of Viv Nicholson, not that you Youngens will understand.
O'Dowda was our MOTM at Burnley. He is young and developing, so next season or the one after he could suddenly blossom into a really hot player. Wether or not that is with us really depends on what league we are playing in next season Paterson has his moments, but probably not worth what we paid for him. He needs to give us more if he is to make a success of his career at AG. All our midfield and attackers need to practise their shooting FANATICALLY, and train like their lives depend on it. The future is what you make it !
I'm also hopeful about O'Dowda and pleased he was MOM against Burnley, however depleted. Think you're about right about Paterson as well. Another winger though ? I think he's panicking, a bit like changing our style recently to the old Wimbledon. Early on this season we played entirely different, now we've gone back to the dark ages. I've never known a BCFC manager change/panic as much. Not for long though.
Don't forget he has the help from assistant manager JP, must also be partly to blame.........If LJ goes surely JP goes with him
I think we need an out and out winger, preferably one that is brilliant down oneside but can nip over to the other one to cause confusion!
1For If/when LJ leaves I wouldn't care who went with him. Reckon the new man would bring his own with him.
imagine ... BCFC LOOSELY follow the Barnsley model !!!! jk not happy OK po lf not happy OK po SLIGHT VARIATION junior not making it OK remain as first team coach and we will get a mentor in ...remember it did work at FLOREST !
We need him to play in goal, then when we are on the attack he sprints up the bye line, runs to the corner flag then sprints back into goal ready for the kick off . in case he gets injured or knackered Giefer will have been playing centre forwaed AND THE SUB IS NOT WASTED .....
[ I really rate O'Dowda too. Paterson is too inconsistent. Mind you, they all are right now, except Flint perhaps.
