http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11675/8249291/Hugo-Lloris-hints-he-could-seek-regular-playing-time-away-from-Tottenham My laptop is in for repair so using my phone so can't copy the actual article just the link. I say let him go if he isn't happy. He hasn't impressed me much so far anyway and I'm sick of hearing players moaning.
I expect that, like me, he's distinctly unimpressed with AVB. However, to call it premature would be an understatement. I assume that you're aware that you've hit a raw nerve with a certain vociferous member of this forum? Who I think you can expect to pop up, with a large soapbox in hand, anytime soon!!..
The phrase "time of the month" springs to mind - although the term could well be applied to Deschamps, the French press, and the usual list of papers reporting that Lloris wants out for the umpteenth time already...
He's been a lot better than Friedel in my opinion in the games he's played. Yes he nearly cost us a goal vs Villa and then he and Naughton were at fault vs Maribor but Friedel has made plenty of mistakes this season and I still can't seem to understand why Lloris isn't the number 1 by now, he's younger and, in my opinion, better. I think it's natural for a player of his calibre to be upset, he's been used to playing week in, week out for a top side and so far he's come to us - which I think many of us have to admit was a surprise - and he's been left on the bench more often than not. I think him being upset should be seen as a positive in a way (providing it's not affecting the squad), it's showing he's come here with the intention to play and not just happily pick up his wages each week while sitting on the bench. We have a keeper who has the potential to be one of the best, if not the best in the league, I certainly don't want to see him gone but while he's not playing, there's no point keeping a player who's probably on £50k a week to just sit on the bench more often than not.
He says he's happy at Tottenham but always seems to leave a negative quote too or one that can be taken the wrong way. Not sure if that's intentional or not. I think he'll be here for years to come but if he wants to leave that's fine by me as long as the player honours his contract and shuts the **** up until Levy gets an offer that's acceptable.
So instead of just commenting on the headline, written by Sky why don't we discuss what Lloris is actually quoted to have said in the article, quote: "I feel much at ease at the club, where I have been very, very well received by the players, the fans and people at the club" Doesn't tie in with the slant of the headline does it? Ties in with Deschamps comments though which are just being rehashed to make something from nothing. I see nothing in that quote that suggest he is unhappy. The other quote in Equipe just says he wants first team football. Well there's a surprise, what would you expect him to say! This is just going to stir up GH10 AGAIN and is not doing us any favours KingHotspur. Or do you enjoy his rants?
I would like to fix up a private line for the two of you SoS but as I can't do that I will leave the thread open for you to enjoy.
WOOHOOOOO! All seriousness, probably best to close it mate. It'll only lead to a bit of slanging like we've seen in the past 326 Lloris threads
But you need a Goalkeeper to have a huge ego so perhaps not a bad thing. Is it as big as Joe Hart's do you think?
